Javier September 25th, 2003, 09:29 PM Rare, Interesting, but DESTROYED. 7/10 Peter The Great September 26th, 2003, 03:16 AM Go Baghdad! future skyscraper capital? ...according to the Bush administration...it's supposed to be equivalent...or rather better off than post-war Germany and Japan...LOL! Let's see Bush use that 80 billion to build some towers... I'm not going to rate this city yet...I wouldn't know what to base my rating on. Marybeth September 26th, 2003, 06:40 AM Peter the great...do you have any idea what Germany and Japan were like 6 months after the wars? Big! September 26th, 2003, 11:31 AM mmmm 5/10 :? renell September 26th, 2003, 09:19 PM 5/10 it's good compared to the wars that it has seen. i'd never expect a skyline in the first place Peter The Great September 27th, 2003, 11:20 PM Originally posted by Marybeth Peter the great...do you have any idea what Germany and Japan were like 6 months after the wars? I have a very good idea...Germany was in extremely bad shape until things finally turned around in the 50s after the Marshall plan...now I'm not sure what you're trying to get at by asking me this...but if you are trying to tell me that Iraq is so far doing better than Germany or Japan was immediately after the war...as Rumsfeld has been trying to convince the world, then you're right...but how the hell do you compare WWII to the Iraqi war?! Iraq is different not just with that respect. They have a totally different culture...and strict religious beliefs and tradition and were conquered for reasons we may not know until we watch the history channel 50 years from now when all the politicians are dead...I don't see how a democracy will be set up in Iraq...it's hard for me to predict anything...I have no idea where the U.S. is headed with this...but I wish the best for the Iraqis. Kaneda September 27th, 2003, 11:27 PM 4/10 Better then expected, but still. The Pride September 28th, 2003, 01:03 AM too plain!! 4/10 :( Marybeth September 29th, 2003, 03:17 AM Originally posted by Peter The Great now I'm not sure what you're trying to get at by asking me this...but if you are trying to tell me that Iraq is so far doing better than Germany or Japan was immediately after the war...as Rumsfeld has been trying to convince the world, then you're right That's exactly what I was getting at. Anyway, as far as rating the Baghdad skyline, I don't see much of a skyline to rate. There are a couple highrise apartment buildings and some mosques that stick out, but nothing that qualifies as a significant skyline to me. I'd rate it a 2. jmg September 29th, 2003, 10:02 AM Much better than expected :) Kommentare October 23rd, 2003, 12:01 AM Originally posted by Javier Rare, Interesting, but DESTROYED. 7/10 NOTHING IS DESTROYED alex3000 October 23rd, 2003, 02:37 AM 5/10 dumatod October 23rd, 2003, 05:24 AM Hope Iraq will get peace soon! :) Fabio January 4th, 2004, 11:22 PM 5.5/10 it's ok Jason Law January 6th, 2004, 12:21 AM I guess it's an okay city. It was a joke that did not work. :runaway: zuhahmed October 28th, 2004, 04:40 AM well u think its a joke, because of ur lack of education, but not me, despite the war, baghdad is still one of the most beautiful cities, it has the most amazing history, right from the times of babylon through the islamic middle ages when it was the jewel of the world, knowledge and education. It still has many amazing historic sites, which the rest of the world has forgotten, iraq was the cradle of civilization. Rapid October 28th, 2004, 09:29 PM Americans like you are in too deep with the Iraq situation, and they dont even realize America is not fight against IRAQ, they are fighting in partnership with IRAQ, so nextime you make a joke about Iraq, your making a joke against your ally and people think of you as an ingnorant person. I'd much rather make a joke of Saddam, though. Mr. T October 28th, 2004, 09:49 PM I was actually going to make this an anti-bush joke. But I can understand why you would have thought I was making fun of Iraq. I was not and I wanted to clear that up. Also trust me Americans and Americans who have close ties to Europe (Like me. I have dual citizenship with Greece and go there all the time to visit family) and other world views understand the cituation in Iraq very well. So as I said this was meant to be an anti-bush thread but the pictures did not work.
