Well its simply because most of them are relatively new, we have our middle eastern touch to it, maybe you just havent seen enough to tell. I see nothing wrong in having an American style to our big cities tho, the world is all Americanizing anyway

I can see where you are coming from to a certain extent. Alot of the glassy skyscrapers do look American, but Israel has alot of middle eastern architecture too, just have a look at the new Tel-Aviv international airport. Even though that is brand spanking new, it has a definate middle eastern flavour to it.

Yes, its all build of a Jerusalem stone and has many jewish and middle eastern motives in the Terminal...im gonna visit that terminal in a bit more than a month! i cant wait :D

hehe is so paradox snow in North Israel and Jerusalem but in south Israel(Eilat) u can go to swim in the red sea:))

this is not aparadox the northern half of Israel has amediterranean climate, like in California or in Spain.
which means long hot and dry summer but then cold and rich with precipitation winter, which turn to snow on high altitudes. (places from 700 m/2000 ft. got some snow each winter).
annual precipitation quantity in Tel Aviv =London=Berlin=Oslo=550-600 mm
while quantity in Galilee as high as 1000-1400 mm.
the southern half is in semi arid climate or desert climate, so the precipitation quantity falls to just 30 mm annualy in Eilat.

aha.. Ive always thought that Israel was a very arid country, but if Tel Aviv is as rainy as the rainiest places in europe then it must be very nice to live their.

It snows in Galilee, Golan, and in Jerusalem as well, every winter.

However, half of the country is still desert.... I like the desert, but there is too much of it. :)

Scotty: Tel Aviv may get a lot of rain but it's much hotter here, so the water reservoirs evaporate more rapidly.

Yes sure :) every single israeli i met in London told me Afula is awfully boring and that i should go to Tel-Aviv instead. Next time im going to rent a car or something..

Afula is boring in the way most smaller towns are. There is no way to get around it. It does offer you better quality of life for the same money ( no beaches, tho)

Thats why we cant afford to "hand" the west bank to anyone, its
the last land reserve in the central part of this country!

You want to keep west bank,but do you want to keep the arabs of the west bank?
Moreover,the negev is big enough to shelter Millions and millions of people.
Personnaly,i prefer a small,rich and jewish israel than a poor and arab great israel.

I was actually in Daliat-Ha Carmel...

it was....intresting, but i was escorted with a tour to it.....

i thought druze were pro-israel....i remembered reading that they themselves demanded conscription for their ppl

I have been to some Druze villages and they are really nice people!!
They are pro-Israel! Even the Golan Druze are nice to Israelis!
What you said is maybe right if you get into an Arab village.. but not to a Druze one.

BTW the Druze have really good Labaneh :)

I was being sarcastic...wanting to get Vixtro reaction...
but what i ment was that i was intresting...

if there was any hostilities, when i went there, i wanted to give bubble gum to this druze girl and she said to me "Yahooodi?" and i was like...im being nice to you, offering a gum, and she wanted, but was hesitant....

I guess, me being stranger, a yahoodi and having a gum package that look like medicine, did not help the situation!!

I want a jewish child taking a gum from arab...

lol one of my leb friends fromschool gave me his kit-kat once....does that count? :D
