I just came back from Shenyang and I saw the construction site from the hotel window.
This project was first a competition won by Zeidler partnership in July 2007. The competition has been done by the Beijing office and then the project went to the Shanghai office.
The competition project was much different.
The site was bigger and included the residential part on the West.
There were already the shopping-mall turning around a 250m office tower on the main street on the East.
But then there were 4 residential towers and 1 hotel-apartment tower behind the mall block on the West.

I would be please to share some renderings of this competition but like I'm new here, I'll need somebody to explain to upload from my computer those pictures

the title says that the twin towes will be "only" 56 floors high and there should be a supertall with 68 floors. The same when you look the renders on the first page. Is the supertall allready under construction?

^^ I think the supertall has just started to rise.

The other 2 towers (56-F x 2) is almost done and cladding is next. :)
