Just a sort of OT question, do any of you know of a good place to play pool/billiards in Miami?
I'm looking for somewhere relatively cheap (i.e. they don't charge "club" prices for drinks), somewhere with more of a "rock" type feel to it, rather than reggaeton and preferably, somewhere south of 836.
Any ideas?

New Wave, across the street from FIU in the shopping plaza where the Publix is at.

I used to play at a genuine dive on NW 7th Avenue around 95th Street. The place was actually a little intimidating...scary even...but I got really good playing there because the alternative was to have the regulars mock you mercilessly. Can't even remember the name of the place, although "Shithole With Crappy Beer" would be accurate...
With that, I'm outta here for a few days fellas. Heading down to South Florida tomorrow (I'll be in the Miami area Wednesday and Thursday). Seeya soon and take care!

I always go to Sharp Shooters (117th ave and Sunset), Checho's Pub (Sunset and 109th ave) or Hooligans (US-1 just south of Kendall). Sharp Shooters is a typical pool hall and is good if all you want is beer and pool. Checho's has really nice tables but will occasionally play Reggaeton so loud it makes your ears bleed. Hooligan's is my favorite right now because they play good music and have really cheap seafood and beer. The only problem with Hooligans is that they use coin operated tables.
