i'm not sure but i think they are building one from oujda to nador
but the current roads to city's like al hoceima are not bad!
they finished a new road to saidia a year ago and its a good road!

Great to see how Nador is developing recently, it's growing up and that's good for the region, I think it has very high potential, especially when Moroccans living abroad invest more in this city.
They are building a railway now, but seen the recent development by ADM in other parts of the country maybe we will not have to wait long for a study to build a highway from Nador to Taourirt or isn't that realistic seen the amount of traffic..?

Not the traffic is important but the strategic location. In that case people can go to Nador easily from Fès and the rest of Morocco, a city of 175 000 inhabitants, with an agglomeration of more than 275 000; an important freight and ferry port in Beni Ensar and the Spanish enclave Melilla. This road will also be good for the agro-region in Berkane ...
The rocade méditerranée is ready between Saïdia and Al Hoceima (+/- 220km), it's a simple but wide two-lane road following the coast and not passing through villages and cities, Al Hoceima, Nador, Saïdia, and one or two other excluded. Between Nador and Ahfir 80km is an expressway planned, this is already completed between Saïdia and Oujda via Ahfir (60 km)

Well, if that strategic location of Nador is only important to it's own region (which I don't know) than there is no need for a interregional highway like between Taourirt and Nador. This means that besides the strategic location of a city also the amount of traffic is of big importance, because the amount of interregional traffic to Nador is a good indication for the (current) importance of Nador.
But what I just said could also be turned upside down by saying that a highway would strenghten the position of Nador and because of that traffic will increase automatically and that would be a good thing, so I understand what you're saying :)

It is not the same project. Nador Jadid is been build at Al Matar and it started in 2003.
And the new urban area in Arouit is going to be build near Aruit city and they have recently strated with construction..

i think that it's the same project because Al Matar means the Arouit aeroport near nador city
- Al Matar means here the new quarter next "Laarassi quarter" . yes it means aerport because all the quarter is designed on the old spanish aerport that nadorians called "aviacion" its located in the intro of Nador on the right side of the route between the quarters Laarassi and Bouarourou. that project is owned by Bank populair. they sell the ground and the people are free to build (so the buildings are not planed to be builded by the goverment only administratif buildings and parks)
- On the left side of the route their is also already another quarter builded "Al Bustan Quarter"
Both. Quarter Al Matar and Quarter Al Bustan are called by Nadorians "Nador n jdhidh" that means letterly the New Nador. but not officialy called that way. offcialy they are just 2 new quarters on the intro of Nador city, and its tays changing, because this year even taouima is now a quarter of Nador. that means Taouima is the begin of Nadorcity.
abouth the new planned city on marchica it's planed to be builded a few kilometers from Nador city sow its not like a real new city, but a sportcity like i heared on the news. mar chica sport city or something like that.

le quartier que l'on appelle "El Matar" à Nador, c'est l'ancien aérodrome de nador lors de la colonisation espagnole.
Rien à voir avec la ville de Mont Arouit
