slerz December 21st, 2005, 06:39 AM wow! the writer indeed's right.....most of our fellow men are complaining bout the recent situation of our country. However, they are the ones leaving the country to work abroad. How can the philippines be developed if its blood and soul-the filipinos are abandoning it?
I think thats the edge of Cebu. coz cebuanos just love the island that much! i can see that cebuanos are really working hard for one evident cause - Cebu's progress! and just like Korea, im pretty sure that Cebu in itself, will become one of the richest and most progressive cities in asia - ten to twenty years from now!
It aint a plan or a promise! but these things are happening already and u can see it here in mainland Cebu!
yup, I see Cebu in that article when the Koreans beginning to love more their country and their ordinary citizens even gave their jewelries to their government just for their country to prosper. In Cebu's case, Cebuanos didn't gave their jewelries but instead they've tried working hard hand in hand and has a full affection for the province and cities and the evidence there is the current preparation of the ASEAN summit... A lot of politicos are against Gov. Gwen Garcia to build the megadome before coz of obvious reasons, "politicking" but now that politicking disappeared among those politicos and is now giving support to the materialization of the megadome coz they've realized that Cebu could benefit a lot for this event...they're thinking of Cebu not their pocket:D. They are trying hard not because they are put into that position but beacause they are very proud of Cebu same as ordinary Cebuano citizens...:okay:

CwEoBwU December 21st, 2005, 06:48 AM Korean investor plans 6-tower Mactan resort
A South Korean investor plans to build a 700-room resort in Mactan, which was expected to help alleviate the shortage of resort rooms, a regional tourism official said.
Patria Aurora Roa, Department of Tourism regional director, said the planned facility would consist of six towers, with 250 rooms for outright hotel operations and the rest would be on a condotel operation.
The Korean investor, she said, plans to start the project in 2006 and has targeted 2007 for its completion and the start of the resort's operations.
According to Roa, the plans for the project are already finished and the investors were now completing the documentary requirements such as building permit.

She said the Korean bought the area, which was estimated to reach between seven to eight hectares, from the heirs of Eddie Woolbright.
However, Roa said the projected room capacity of the resort project would not be enough to meet the growing demand.
She noted that it would not be good for Cebu's tourism industry to always turn away prospective guests because of lack of rooms.
At the same time, Roa noted that having expensive rooms would drive away tourists who could get cheaper accommodations at such destinations as Bali and Phuket.
Phuket, for example, has 52,000 rooms, while Cebu has only 7,000 rooms, she pointed out.
The shortage in accommodations, Roa said, has driven prices up, making Cebu more expensive than its Asian counterparts.
Cebu's tourism industry continues to post growth this year, she said.
South Korea remains the top tourist market, followed by Japan, Roa told Cebu Daily News.
She said tourist arrivals for the first 10 months this year registered an increase.
"From January to October, we hit 1.2 million arrivals, combined foreign and domestic," Roa said.
There are now 18 flights from South Korea, including chartered and regular flights, she said.
The problem of lack of accommodations would also be partly addressed by the opening of Marco Polo Plaza Hotel by March next year. Another hotel project, Parklane Hotel would also open sometime next year.
The Department of Tourism (DOT), under the leadership of Secretary Joseph Ace Durano, has been actively convincing owners to make available foreclosed properties such as the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel and Coral Reef as well as the unfinished property beside SM City Cebu to find ways to operate.
The year 2006 would be quite a challenge for hotels and resorts since they have to serve both the regular guests and the ASEAN Summit delegations from 17 countries.
DOT has also been encouraging investors to put up more properties, especially resorts in Mactan, to enable the industry to realize its potentials.
Travel operators have been citing the very high rates of hotels and resorts as among the constraints the industry is facing.
The tourism industry continues to be a growth driver for Cebu's economy. /Irene R. Sino Cruz

CwEoBwU December 21st, 2005, 06:54 AM Megadome has new name,
cost skyrockets to P0.7B
The estimated cost of the planned Cebu Megadome project has bloated almost thrice from P250 million to P700 million, the project's detractor-turned-supporter said.
Cebu Vice Governor Gregorio Sanchez said the Megadome, which will now be called the Cebu Convention Center (CCC), would be finished in 10 months.
He explained that the Provincial Board has agreed to a new scheme to fast-track the construction of the CCC, starting with the Capitol's original P250 million budget for the project.
"We have to fast-track this project and we have to do it because it might reflect on the province of Cebu if we cannot complete it on time," Sanchez said.
The P250-million budget for the project, allocated in 2003, will serve as the initial budget to start the construction.
Capitol officials will then look for interested investors that will reimburse the capitol for its expenses.
"We can advance the amount of P250 million as initial construction and then go on (a) reimburse-operate-and transfer (ROT)," Sanchez added.
"The government will spend first for the construction, then we invite investors to bid. The winning bidder will reimburse the province of its expenses, then they will operate the facility (over a period of time)," he said.
Sanchez said he objected to the project when he was a board member before because of the high costs the Capitol would pay.
"Right now, I presented to (Governor) Gwen (Garcia) that if she wants to push through with the megadome why not change the point of reference," he said.
Sanchez said the facility would be ready for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in 2006.
Expected to attend the summit are leaders from ASEAN-member countries, as well as Russia, Japan, South Korea and Australia. /Correspondent Dale Israel

Korean investor plans 6-tower Mactan resort
+ a 700-room resort
+ 6-7 hectares of land
+ 250 rooms for hotel, 450 rooms condotel
+ Construction starts at Year 2006
+ Project completion: Year 2007
Check this out:
Phuket Thailand has 52,000 hotel rooms while Cebu has only 7,000 rooms!
Cebu needs a total of 15,000 rooms to meet the CURRENT demand. it means, will go higher in the future. imagine that! Local hotels are hitting average 85 percent occupancy all-year-round.

about the megadome, there will be some modifications from it's original design of the spinning disc... the seating capacity was reduced and the interior will also be changed, making it more modern, more designs and more hightech that's why it's budget will probably reach P0.7B.

mapaglaro ang imahinasyon ni tigi ha.. :)
LordCarnal December 21st, 2005, 04:07 PM That actually depends on the soil and also if the area falls on a "Fault Line." Like what I told to rusty18, didto sa HK bai they built their tallest building at 88-storeys on a reclaimed land (see pic below)...
Actually kanang about sa Sheraton, the reason why it has never been operational is due to financial reasons.. Especially nga na-timing iyang construction atung Asian Financial Crisis of 1997..... daghan bitaw mga buildings wala natiwas atu diba? like the 36 storey One CKS Tower....
Even if i-pursue ni siya karon, dako kaayo ug gastuhon sa interior palang daan -- carpets, airconditioning system, fixtures and furnitures, etc...etc... Pero hopefully naa untay mu-come in.. But naa man news reports nga i-pursue daw ni sa SM, thanks to our energetic DOT Sec. Ace Durano..
Lig-on na iya structure bai, some of the consultants for its foundation are from Hongkong.. I myself saw when it's foundations were laid because naa man tuy tindahan akong dad diha dapit sa may Starbucks sa-una -- they injected very long and solid steel posts/beams to the ground.. In fact, it was very noisy when those machineries plummeted the said posts into the ground..
If you have seen the movie "Dubai" there was that 7-star hotel which was featured also in National Geo... Imagine the building was built at the sea on SAND..! won't that sink? but the engineers were very wise! they reclaimed the land with very large solid stones, naa pa sad tu sila lain gipang-butang... kalimot na ko sa details...
In fact, naa man gani tu gi post si Sugbuanon about a highrise building designed by Architect Noel that will be built at the SRP.. :)

LordCarnal December 21st, 2005, 05:25 PM Markiiboi, here's more about the SM Sheraton... This article was published last February pa..
SM Group to invest P1B to finish Sheraton project
by Ehda M. Dago-oc
February 23, 2005
The SM Group, headed by Henry Sy, is now interested to pursue the construction of Sheraton Hotel, recognizing the dire need of Cebu for more hotel rooms.
SM Group will have to invest an additional of P1 billion more, in order for the hotel to be fully completed, said Department of Tourism (DOT) secretary Joseph Ace Durano.
“I spoke with the Sy family last week and they are now interested to pursue the Sheraton project in Cebu,” Durano said in an interview.
The Sheraton Hotel project, the first hotel project of the Sy group in Cebu, has been badly affected by the regional economic crisis. The group decided to stop the construction although it already cost them about P3 million, because the tourism industry that time was very bleak.
Now, the tourism prospects for Cebu is very upbeat, Durano said the Sy family are now aggressively moving on and is determined to re-open the project, in probably about a year from now.
Likewise, the Sy Family he said is also seeing good tourism prospects for Cebu, and had been feeling the market to consider the re-opening of Sheraton project construction.
According to Durano, the DOT is now pushing investors, especially taipans to be confident in the Philippines, and pour their investments in the country, especially in providing tourism-related infrastructure.
He said DOT is actively convincing the Sy Family of SM to revive the Sheraton project, as well as pressure, George Te of Metrobank to immediately dispose the Cebu Plaza Hotel to interested buyers.
In July of last year, DOT-7 regional director Patria Aurora Roa said she wrote a letter to the SM Group, via SM vice president for Visayas and Mindanao operations Marissa Fernan expressing Cebu’s dire need of hotel room accommodations.
“We are pushing for the continuation of the Sheraton project. I hope this desperate appeal will reach to ears of Mr. Henry Sy,” Roa said in an interview.
Durano said additional hotel accommodation for Cebu need that must be addressed now, because Cebu has been turning away thousands of tourists every year, because of room accommodation shortage.
Cebu has only about 6,000 hotel and resort room accommodations. This number according to tourism players is smaller than the arriving tourists, both from domestic and overseas market seeking for rooms everyday.
The problem worsens, especially when Cebu is celebrating special events like Sinulog, big international conventions, among
others.
Early this month, five-star resort Hilton International, opened over 100 rooms ready to accommodate guests. Cebu Hilton Resort and Spa, has a total of 246 rooms, all rooms will be operational within the year.

SM Group mulls completion of “Sheraton” hotel project
by Ehda M. Dago-oc
March 14, 2005
Retail giant SM Group is refocusing its direction starting this year, from being busy putting up malls across the country in the past, to taking advantage of the bullish tourism sector.
SM Inc. president Teresita Sy-Coson said starting this year, the SM Group will be reviving its interest in the tourism sector, and one of the primary projects will be the completion of the supposedly Cebu Sheraton Hotel.
In an interview with Sy-Coson in her recent visit to Cebu, she said that the company’s tourism projects’ strategy is being discussed already, and they will be putting it up together sometime this year.
Although she did not give the exact time frame when to start the completion of the unfinished Cebu Sheraton Hotel project, she said formal announcement shall be done by the company, as soon as everything will be put in place already.
There is also a possibility that the first hotel project of the SM group in Cebu, would no longer be managed by the Sheraton group, she said adding that they are also scouting hotel management partners for the project.
Although, she said that Sheraton management is still being considered by the SM Group, but there is a possibility that that project will eventually be managed by another hotel management group.
Sy-Coson said it would cost the SM Group to invest at least P500 million to complete the idle hotel project, that had been severely affected by the 1997 regional economic crisis.
According to Sy-Coson tourism strategies will be the direction of the group starting this year, as they have been busy in the mall developments in the past years.
The SM Group already spent about P300 million for the Cebu Sheraton Hotel project, another millions of pesos will be poured in again to complete the project.
As the group put its faith in the tourism advantage in the Philippines, including Cebu, there is a possibility that the company will start construction of the project within this year.
“It could be this year. We’re just keeping our time and putting things together. Maybe, sometime this year,” Sy-Coson said when asked when they are going to start the re-construction.
In an earlier interview, Department of Tourism secretary Joseph Ace Durano said he had been personally convincing the capitalists and taipans in the country to build tourism related projects, especially hotel projects in Cebu.
According to Cebu Visitors and Convention Bureau (CVCB) chairman, Patrick C. Gregorio, Cebu needs at least 2,000 more hotel rooms now. The about 6,000 number of room accommodations here, can not sustain the growing number of arriving tourists to Cebu.

So what about the image that's on display in the Sto Nino shrine - is that also a replica?
I'm not sure bro.. But I guess that's a replica.. My sacristan friend (he is now an Agustinian seminarian in Manila) said that the original image which is housed at a vault in the convento is already very delicate in nature. He also said that the said image no longer has arms and a part of its face has somewhat blackened. It might have been cut off or disintegrated throughout the years since it's just made of wood. Thus, if the original image is displayed, one can notice that its arms are of gold and silver. Restoration make-up (on the face) is sometimes applied according to him.
An insider (a former security guard at the said room) told me also that the original image is displayed only ONCE A YEAR. So I guess they display the replica throughout the year and display the original one during the Sinulog but I don't think they would be parading this original one during the procession.
Take note that the said image was found inside a box in a burned hut, which was razed by Legaspi's men when they had an encounter with Rajah Tupas.

CwEoBwU December 22nd, 2005, 07:25 AM Major infrastructure projects
to help improve Cebu tourism
Published: 22 December 2005
by Irene R. Sino Cruz
WITH tourism remaining one of the growth drivers of Cebu's economy, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) cited the need to implement projects that would make the province more attractive to tourists.
The Cebu Master Plan 2020, prepared by CCCI's Cebu Tourism Core Group, identified major infrastructure projects that needed to be implemented along the coastline areas, according to CCCI president Robert Go.
The plan aims to turn Cebu into an the information hub, maritime center and tourism capital of the country, Go said.
To realize this goal, he said, there is a need to refurbish historical landmarks and rehabilitate required infrastructure necessary to attract foreign investments and tourists.
The proposed projects will improve the Metro Cebu Corridor, which covers the coastline from Mandaue Reclamation to the Kawit Island in South Road Properties (former South Reclamation Project) and the Mactan Boardwalk, Go said.
One of the tourism corridor centerpieces, he said, is the Cebu and Mactan Boardwalk, which will feature an amphitheater, family theme park, marina yacht club, marina promenade, zen center and restaurants.
Another project calls for the development of the Cebu Heritage and Cultural Center, to include the Malacañang in the South and its environs, Go said.
CCCI is also pushing the Cebu Plus Tourism road map, which reinforces the Department of Tourism (DOT) hubs and spokes program.
The Cebu Plus Tourism road map identifies Cebu as the jump-off point for other tourist destinations such as Boracay, Palawan and Dakak in Zamboanga, Go said during a recent briefing.
"In response to our Cebu Plus Tourism Roadmap, with the goal of five million tourists in 2010, Mactan Cebu International Airport general manager Adelberto Yap immediately planned the second airport terminal building," Go pointed out.
The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) also proposed the construction of a light-rail transit system starting from Consolacion to Talisay to provide faster transportation for tourists and local commuters, he noted.
"Cebu Plus has strong backing from the Regional Development Council and the Cebu City Council, which also endorsed the friendship bridge in Mactan," Go said.
The chamber has identified tourism, along with information and communications technology (ICT), as among the sectors that would boost Cebu's economy.
International and domestic tourist arrivals continue to grow this year, DOT Central Visayas regional director Patria Aurora Roa said recently.
From January to October this year, tourist arrivals already reached 1.2 million, Roa said.
Although tourism remains a growing industry, the lack of accommodation has affected the growth of the tourism industry.

Rosario Church. Newest establishments in the area are the CTS school building, Citilink terminal, Elizabeth Mall, the modern GSIS buiding (just infront of emall/@ the back of old ABS), and so with the Citi Central public school nga naay elevator and now that huge IT mall is on the rise. So every corner of Cebu is becoming dense.

No. of tourists rises
Foreign and domestic arrivals in Cebu increased by 10 percent to 938,666 guests from January to October this year against 851,780 in the same period in 2004.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) 7 reported that the number of foreign travelers increased 16 percent from 291,716 last year to 338,600 this year. Domestic travelers also increased seven percent to 600,066 people from last year’s 560,064.
Result
In an interview yesterday, Tourism Undersec-retary Phineas Alburo said the increasing number of tourist arrivals is generally the result of the marketing efforts of the tourism sector in the country.
“It’s now paying off. Our country has remained stable and our national political problem did not affect our tourism industry,” he said.
Tourists from Korea increased 43 percent from last year’s 84,326 to 120,871 this year.
Korean tourists make up 35.7 percent of the total visitor arrivals in Cebu, making it the number one travel market for the province on top of Japanese tourists with 28.6 percent and US tourists with 10 percent.
Visitors from Japan increased 13.6 percent from last year’s 85,221 to this year’s 96,891 while visitors from the United States increased 13.71 from last year’s 30,290 to 34,444 this year.
Top market
Hong Kong, Cebu’s fourth top travel market, however, dropped 29.62 percent to 9,606 visitors this year from 13,649 in 2004.
“Most Hong Kong visitors are weekend travelers. Maybe they have tried other neighboring destinations,” Alburo said.
While the decrease of Hong Kong tourist arrivals in Cebu is not necessarily a big problem, he told Sun.Star Cebu the DOT has doubled its efforts in maintaining the country’s presence in the global market.
“To promote more consumer awareness, the country’s tourism attractions are now advertised even in Hong Kong taxis,” he said.
Tourists from Taiwan, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, China and Singapore are among Cebu’s top 10 travel market, the DOT report said.
Asean summit
In a separate interview yesterday, Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Robert Go said the 12th summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) that will be held in Cebu next year will bring more tourists to Cebu.
He said prior to the summit, Cebu will also host a number of other Asean meetings.
“Hosting the Asean is like an investment because after that, foreign tourists who came and experienced Cebu will go back to their own countries and tell their friends and families about Cebu,” he said.
Go also said the international publicity that Cebu will get for this event will even make the province more popular in the global tourism market.
“The summit is one of the biggest factors why the five million tourists in the 2010 target of the Cebu Plus Tourism Roadmap is attainable,” he said
2 more roads to Mactan planned
The Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) plans to open two more roads, one leading to Barangay Ibo and the other to Barangay Basak, to ease traffic and give tourists favorable first impressions of Cebu.
General Manager Adelberto F. Yap said the MCIAA Board will soon discuss how much it will cost to build the two roads, scheduled to be finished in time for the Asean Ministers’ Summit in December 2006.
Yap said the proposed road to Barangay Ibo will pass by the airport’s cargo forwarding firms and the Mactan Economic Zone (MEZ) 1. This will connect to the business areas and tourist destinations of Barangays Bangkal, Mactan and Punta Engaño.
The proposed road to Barangay Basak will link the airport road to the area where the Pag-asa Weather Station is and will pass through the soon-to-rise P120-million administration building, MEZ 2 and the Mactan Benito Ebuen Air Base. It will also connect the airport to some resorts.
“They said the airport is the first impression of foreign tourists, who may criticize us if they get caught in heavy traffic. So we have to open roads for their convenience,” Yap said.
Yap said the MCIAA may seek the assistance of the Lapu-Lapu City Government in building the roads, which will also benefit the Province. Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia is a member of the MCIAA Board.
The 250-hectare lot occupied by the Mactan Benito Ebuen Air Base is owned by MCIAA, under Republic Act 6958.
But the Philippine Air Force was allowed to temporarily retain 150 hectares, based on an executive order issued by then president Fidel V. Ramos in 1995.
In her speech during the groundbreaking of the future administration building, Governor Garcia said she expects more projects to be undertaken by MCIAA next year because it enjoys the support of the MCIAA Board and airport personnel

MarkiiBoi December 22nd, 2005, 06:09 PM CEBU IS REALLY "BOOMING". OH I WISH I CAN VISIT CEBU!
Indeed! You are most welcome here BAI! :)
JAMAICUS December 22nd, 2005, 06:20 PM Thank you for your humble welcome Mr.MarkiiBoi. Anyway, how are your rivers and seas? Is it clear blue or green dirty like PAsig?
MarkiiBoi December 22nd, 2005, 06:42 PM The seas are crystal-clear with prestine white sand beaches known the world over, with some of the best dive spots in the region. Rivers in the province are in excellent condition [virgin!]. :) :) :)
But sadly, the city rivers, although few in number needs rehabilitation. They're not really in the worst condition but are becoming dirtier by time. Maybe the government hasnt realized this yet, or maybe they are attending to more pressing issues.. :(
JAMAICUS December 22nd, 2005, 06:51 PM crystal-clear and Prestine! You Cebuanos must be really well disciplined.
rowell_sk December 22nd, 2005, 10:37 PM the only problem in our sea water is in the mactan channel between cebu city and lapu-lapu city. but in our beaches here you can see more than what you will expect.

are there any beaches in city of Cebu itself? (white sand) or do you have to go to Mactan for one

rowell_sk December 22nd, 2005, 11:15 PM Filipinos losing jobs to ?tourist-traders?
By Roderick T. dela Cruz
THE government?s drive to attract Korean and Chinese tourists is paying off too well, as many of the visitors are traders and businessmen who end up overstaying to take jobs from Filipinos.
Official sources who described this situation said a bloc of consultants, informally known as ?Cebu Inc.,? has been running the show at the Department of Tourism, and targeting the entry of more tourists from China and Korea.
For a week, Standard Today tried to reach Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano for comment on this allegation, but his office has yet to provide any response.
Korea edged out the United States as the top source of foreign visitors in October, sending 42,044 tourists to the country during the month. This was 42.8 percent higher than the same month a year earlier.
China climbed to the fourth spot in October, after Korea, the United States and Japan, with a sharp 189 percent growth in visitors, totaling 10,664 for the month.
Sources said young Chinese immigrants can be sighted selling smuggled items in Divisoria, Quiapo and other large trading centers in Metro Manila while Korean nationals are now owners of travel agencies, hotels, restaurants and bars despite the constitutional restriction on foreign ownership.
In a recent forum on Philippines-China relations, Filipino-Chinese civic leader Teresita Ang See acknowledged that the entry of new Chinese immigrants ?creates an entirely new problematic situation for the Philippine society as a whole.?
In her paper, Ang See said that ?because of the very nature of their illegal entry... many of the new immigrants have become involved in various forms of criminal activities with illegal drug trafficking topping them.?
This has had an adverse backlash on the local Chinese community and has created a very negative image not just for these new immigrants but also for longtime residents and China too, she said.
In the first 10 months of 2005, foreign visitor arrivals went up 13.6 percent to 2.114 million from only 1.861 million a year ago.
The government was aiming for 2.6 million tourist arrivals in 2005 and five million by 2010.
Sources, however, said the tourism department should focus on attracting ?quality? tourists who contribute dollars to the Philippine economy, and not new immigrants who steal jobs away from Filipinos and add to the social problems in the country.
rowell_sk December 22nd, 2005, 11:20 PM lapu-lapu city is part of Metro Cebu. Still Cebu has a lot to offer when it comes to beaches within the province, there's alegre beach and the white sands in Moalboal which is famous as a diving spot.
rowell_sk December 22nd, 2005, 11:24 PM i also forgot to mention Malapascua island and a lot more.
jrevalde December 22nd, 2005, 11:29 PM @chym
No white sand beach at cebu city itself, not even in Talisay to the south or Mandaue to the north so youd have to go across the bridge to Mactan or go further up north or south along the coast of Cebu. :)

rowell_sk December 22nd, 2005, 11:44 PM Folks! I once visited Bellavista Hotel situated between the two Mactan bridges. It was during my cousin's debut and when we visited the pool/jacuzzi i was awed by the panoramic view of Cebu city and the two bridges unfortunately I failed to bring our digital camera. Hope someone here could go there and shoot some pics. There is a bar-like area for drinking session near the pool and we're told that the entrance there is 150 consumable. It's very ideal if you have some chix as company.hehe. The place for me is the opposite for the mountain view

slerz December 22nd, 2005, 11:58 PM Mactan is still part of Cebu City isnt it? cos Lapu-Lapu City that is Mactan is also part of Metro Cebu.
Metro Cebu includes the neighboring cities of:
Cebu City
Mandaue City
Lapu Lapu City and
Talisay City
and other neighboring urban municipalities.
Mactan is part of Lapu Lapu City.
Cebu City coastlines has no beaches coz the coastline that stretches from Mandaue City down to the downtown coastline of Cebu City serves as the long strech of the Cebu harbor about more than 10 kilometer stretch. Hundreds of ships and boats arrive and depart to and from Cebu harbor everyday passing the Mactan Channel along the Mactan western coastline facing Mandaue City and Cebu City. Beaches are located in the opposite or eastern side of Mactan island facing olango island.

Sinjin P. December 23rd, 2005, 01:55 AM 2 more roads to Mactan planned

ASEAN Summit
by Sun.Star Cebu
“The summit is one of the biggest factors why the five million tourists in the 2010 target of the Cebu Plus Tourism Roadmap is attainable,” he said.
