Orchid Views -- Jacob Circle
DB Reality has become one of Mumbai's most prolific developers and are behind several of the Mumbai's tallest building proposals. Orchid Heights is one of these.

Comprising two towers of 46 stories (+4 story podium of parking and amenities), Orchid Heights is a residential project at Jacob Circle, nearby Worli. The project also contains other highrises whose designs are not yet released.

Located smack dab in the middle of Mumbai's under construction skyline, the towers should offer some awesome views.

IndiansUnite April 5th, 2010, 07:59 AM Construction is going to start soon. Man Infra has already bagged the contract to build them but hasn't announced it yet. It should do so in the next couple of days.
Man Infraconstruction nears Rs 725 crore order (http://www.dnaindia.com/money/report_man-infraconstruction-nears-rs-725-crore-order_1363477)
Mumbai: Recently listed Man Infraconstruction is set to receive a Rs 725 crore order from DB Realty.
Sources close to the development told DNA, “The company has already got the order and some final details are being worked out. Announcement can happen anytime soon.”
Another official close to the deal said, “Yes, the two are in talks for a possible order and Man Infra may have already got it.”
When contacted, Ashok Mehta, chief financial officer, Man Infra said, “We haven’t finalised anything yet and will make the necessary announcement as soon as some concrete developments takes place.” Mehta declined to give any further details.
A senior official from DB Realty, who did not wish to be identified, said, “Yes, we are giving the order to Man Infra but we can not divulge the details now.”
Research analyst tracking the company said that the order would be for Jacob Circle, Mumbai, project where the realtor is building a residential project with golf course and other amenities.
Man Infra’s order-book of Rs 1,400 crore will surge by over 50% to Rs 2,125 crore with the DB Realty order.
An analyst tracking the company said, “Man Infra, at the time of its listing had said that its earnings per share will be Rs 27.55-32 per share. This is very positive for the company.”
Both DBR's website and IPO confirm that the development of this project will start this month.

sixsigma1978 October 31st, 2010, 04:48 AM Can anyone point this on Google Maps? Can't make out much from their outline map - is this next to the Arthur Road Central Jail?

India101 December 29th, 2010, 06:57 AM An article about Arthur Road Jail mentions something DB Realty constructing a 70 storey tower in the vicinity of the Jail. Could Orchid views have been redesigned into a 70fl tower?
Here is a snippet from the article (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/nagpur/Govt-spends-Rs-256cr-on-Kasab-security/articleshow/7079114.cms):
The minister also ruled out irregularities in granting permission to DB Realtors to construct 70-storey tower within close vicinity of Arthur Road jail. The opposition members in the Upper House argued that no construction could take place within 185 metres of the high-security prison. Patil informed the House that earlier the rule was 150 metres within the jail premises, but when new development plan for a metro city like Mumbai came into effect, even this rule was relaxed.
And if you look in Bhargav's post above that is Arthur Road Jail just a few hundred meters up the road between J.R Boricha Marg & Sane Guruji Marg.

deekshith October 29th, 2011, 12:52 PM Thanks savz.
Looks like it's on hold (?) also they have put up a different render on the site.
India101 November 2nd, 2011, 09:27 AM That render looks to be for these three towers to the left side of the site layout image, while the main tower is on the other side -

Yup your right 101, the ones on the left matches the renders on the billboard. Even the height of the buildings in the render (as per the floor count) is the same as in G+P+20 where as the ones on the right side look like G+3P+43 as far as i could see it.
But when i went to the site, to the right of the site walls, there are slums still prevailant. So seems like there is some issues and they wud hv to clear the slums and prep it. So the project has not even started for the actual towers. Have they reduced the height further to 48 floors or so now?
