Hi...
I want to traveling to Lefkada this summer... so... I need help :)
I'm from Belgrade (Serbia), I want to go by car, road Belgrade-Skopje-Thessaloniki I know... but... Thessaloniki-Lefkada I don't know very good, because I never been west of the Thesaloniki. I need the best route from Thessaloniki to Lefkada.

Is finished highway Egnatia road to Igumenica? Where I can stay to sleeping on the road, if we feel tired? I heared some beautiful mountine village in the this route (Methoni or something else), or some hotel vithin highway (in sorounding Thessaloniki)

How much quality of road infrastructure on Lefkada?

Does in Lefkada have some chain of supermarket (Lidl, Tesco or something else)

How much price of fuel in Greece?

Thanks for answer

From Thessaloníki there are countless routes to Lefkada. My recommendation would be to choose one that allows you to see Meteora, Metsovo, Yiannena and finally Lefkada. Lefkada boasts some of the best beaches in Europe (Kathisma, Porto Katsiki, & Egremni). There is a ring road around the island with excellent views and access to beautiful coastal villages (Agios Nikitas, Vassiliki, Nydri). There is also a lot of night life in the main town during the summer months and a superb International Folk Festival in mid August that attracts groups from all over the world (Oldest Folk Fest in Greece now in its 46th year!). The road system is very extensive but the roads are narrow , winding and steep and full of Greek drivers so be careful. And yes Lefkada does have a Lidl.

If you have time visit the beautiful village of Karya in the interior. Great place to buy original hand woven crafts. They have a tradition that goes back hundreds of years in designing original patterns. (and since it is situated high its a lot cooler than the coast)

Egremni ( My favorite - but difficult to reach)

Milos (just an ordinary Lefkada beach nobody has heard of)

dear stefan1 your choice is really good.. lefkada is a great island. i drew you a path on the map. i think that's the best one. and you dont have to get in an boats to go there...
here's the map..
http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z188/ovem/3-15.jpg
starting from beograd to skopja and then thessaloniki(you wont pass through the city).
then you are following the egnatia highway untill you arrive in ioannina. (the highway has some parts still under construction so you have to follow some other roads at times).
after ioannina you have to go souuth/west to preveza. you will cross the sea with the underwater tunnel in prveza and then keep going south. you dont have to use a boat to go across on lefkada. there's a bridge driving directly in the island's capital. :)
you can ask anything you want :)
