After 3 months in Budapest I have some knowledge about budget places in Budapest and I want to hear your tips also (as students we need to know these places).

- So in Baross Utca there is a restaurant called fakanál ételbár which has great food for a very low-price (more or less 400-500 forints). The place is kind of typical, don't expect too much things.

- In Krudy Gyula there is a second-hand shop with great prices (jackets, t-shirts and so on).

You meen like Hostels and especially Kocsmas too?

I didn't mention anything specific. Just share your budget places that you know from Budapeste. Those can be hostels, bars, restaurants, shops, whatever.

In which districts? These are pretty common names, as both were famous people.

Both in District VIII.

I only know in Debrecen,as I go out there more often with a student's budget.

In Paulay ede Utca there is a bar called Choco Noir bar with the best hot-chocolates in Budapeste (most of them cost 560 HUF more or less). Really great place to bring a girl.

It is exam season at the univ so I (maybe we) don't really think about fun places till mid-June :(

ZP suxx, anyway. IMO. Especially the people. Preteens and louts.

I'm always going to Rio, but you asked for cheap and good places :D Well ZP is really cheap, and it does have good bands sometimes.

i used to go to a restaurant in mester utca,dont know if its still there.
it was called pascal , i think,it was opposite spar supermarket.
they had nice service with reasonable prices,perfect place for lunch during exam period

oh....and there was this cheap chinese restaurant next to the uni at klinikak.
really "cheap" inside but with nice food,highly recommended(if it still exists)for the end of the month when you run out of money

There is a great place in Kiraly Utca to eat the delicious Burek (with meat or cheese). Meat cost 420 fts. Cheese cost 370 fts.

Did you try it? If so how was it? Last time i walked there it looked delicious but i already had my launch so i passed.

It's pretty delicious the meat one. The cheese is not that good (because I'm not very used to this kind of cheese).

By the way, another tip. In Lizt Ferenc Utca there are usually expensive restaurants and so on. There is Fresco Cafe which has expensive meals but just try the pizzas over there. I ate one of 1200 fts and it was so big and delicious. Besides it's really nice to eat a pizza and drink a beer in that street.
