View Full Version : Ancient Bar'an Temple | Marib, Yemen
bestkub May 16th, 2008, 11:06 AM This temple, built originally in the 5th century BC is dedicated to the moon god ‘almaqah’, and its five pillars marking the entrance to the temple and inner cella, are the tallest in south Arabia. The temple grounds included a ritual well and altar for sacrifice as well as smaller altars and alabaster benches arranged arcade-like around the inner perimeter walls.
