ritche January 5th, 2009, 02:25 PM ^^ Gearing for Medical Tourism.. Rooms are kinda expensive, too.. Definitely, but if you have PhiliHealth it will help. ritche January 5th, 2009, 03:03 PM ^^PHINO pala (our very own PhilHealth, only in NegOr). But I heard NOPH will also be updating, maybe at par with the best public hospitals in the country with the construction of a 7-storey wing. So Oriental Negrenses will have plenty of choices when it comes to healthcare. Si Gov. Macias pa (He's a doctor, by the way). johnnyS January 5th, 2009, 03:41 PM Was Dauin affected by the floods? Specifically, along the south highway? I am saddened by the recent flashfloods in the city, however miniscule compared to the flashfloods in Mindanao. Some groups pointed out three reasons for the flashfloods, which are denudation of the Banica watershed, throwing of wastes along the riverbank, and the presence of inhabitants along the Banica river bank, which is really hazardous. I guess recent events have awakened our constituents and gave them more resolve to do something. I believe that with proper management, environmental protection and economic development can go hand in hand. Singapore, for example, is envisioning a future where they could grow their own food at the rooftops of their buildings, thereby reducing heat and global warming in their side of the planet. I suggest that environmental groups and the city administration come up with a plan to plant at least 1,000 trees per year (we have always been proud of the fact that we are one of the staunchest environmentalists in the whole country, and now come this flooding, what a shame!!!) along the riverbanks and roads. To give it more value, and so that people won't think twice about reforestation, we should follow the example of the City of Bayawan which I guess will have no more flooding many years from now (and the former sugarcane planters awash with new cash from a new found industrial crop). Prices of sugarcane are going down and the country will be flooded with cheap imported sugar by 2010, but Bayawanons will have no fear because many of them have shifted to rubber trees – a high value crop which could replace sugarcane as the province’s industrial crop. We could actually hit two birds with one stone if we implement massive reforestation using high value, industrial or fruit bearing trees such as rubber and jatropha. nicko January 6th, 2009, 04:35 PM You're definitely right with your brother's observation. It is definitely more like a hotel than a hospital. A friend who was admitted at the MAB said that he doesn't mind being admitted to a hospital as long as he's at the MAB wing:lol:. Hey, but that's not all. The suites will even be better with floor to ceiling glass window, almost all are electronics (automatic) including the bed, widescreen LCD TV, etc. Hmmm, I guess people here will not be going to Cebu or Manila for their medical needs, even the high end ones, in the months and years to come. The main building will soon have all private rooms upgraded to have the same amenities and atmosphere as with the new MAB within the year. Our provincial hospital is one of the favorite pet projects of the governor (a surgeon himself). With the new MRI, people wont have to go to Cebu to have it and they wont even have to pay as much as private hospitals would charge for it. The City Maternity Hospital will open this quarter. I really love the design of it. At first look, you wouldnt think that it is a hospital since it complements well with the old spanish designed buildings (City Hall complex) surrounding it... nicko January 6th, 2009, 04:38 PM Was Dauin affected by the floods? Specifically, along the south highway? I dont have any news on Dauin being affected with flood. The areas affected are mostly the ones near banica river here in the city. The river overflowed.. quite odd. happens sooo rarely.. wew. global warming.. johnnyS January 7th, 2009, 06:06 AM I hope that with all the improvements in physicalfacilities, that dumaguete will be able to attract and retain high quality physicians as well. I like the asmbience, look and feel of the Terrace t the Ayala Cebter Cebu, it's just much like Greenbelt. The materials are actually very simple and I like it's park-like atmosphere. PSALM gave ICS Renewables 10 days to put up the bond, which is equivalent to $23,000, based on the Asset Purchase Agreement. The newly-incorporated, Filipino-owned company involved in the manufacture of alternative fuels, headed by Juan Eugenio Roxas of Dumaguete City, was named the winning bidder after it offered $230,000 for the hydropower facility last December 10. PSALM said in a statement it issued that the amount exceeded the reserve price set by its Board for the generating asset. The Notice of Award and Certificate of Effectivity for the Amlan plant, situated in Sitio Pasalan, Brgy. Silab in Amlan town, was released to ICS Renewables on January 8. The power facility is operating as a base-load plant, supplying power to is host town and nearby villages. Following the sale of the Amlan hydropower plant, PSALM completed the government’s power privatization program for 2008 more than its targeted 70 percent of the National Power Corporation’s generating assets in the Luzon and Visayas grids. Last November, also divested its assets in the 146.5-MW Panay and 22-MW Bohol power plant package.*NLG Fly2Bacolod January 13th, 2009, 10:17 AM ...like ko rin yung design ng building ng bethel guest house... ^^ from southtravels.com http://www.southtravels.com/asia/philippines/bethelguesthouse/gifs/hotelview.jpg ritche January 13th, 2009, 10:41 AM First time i checked on SMC-MAB today and it does look posh, clean, spacious, well-lit with natural light, and techy. overall, it can even surpass most nice hotels here in the city.. it has surveillance cameras along the hallways, modern fire alarm system, effecient use of space, and the use of therapeutic colors schemes in patient's rooms as well as in the hallways and lobby. 3 new scenic elevators are installed. two on the main lobby and another one to be shared together with the main building. Just a 7 storey building. Do you have any exact height figures? I think Lee Super Plaza and Bandera are the same height. From what I understand, the height of these two buildings were the height limit that used to be over the buildings in Dumaguete. It sounds though with the new constructions, that that height limt has been amended. There was a plan about 10 - 15 years ago in Tubtubon in Sibulan for the 10 stroey Grand Casino building (not a gambling casino). It got up to one storey of pillars put in, then the trustees got into disagreements, fell out with each other, and as a result never materialized. Now it is a weed covered lot with a corrugated sheet fence, overgrown with sagbot. Here is the information necessary for ordering the SSC National T-shirt: http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x248/gibbster1/others/SSCTeedesign1.jpg Ordering - Manila, Philippine Domestic and Overseas You may send your payment through Western Union or for the Philippines, either in ML Lhuiller Kwarta Padala or Cebuana Lhuiller. The recipient information will go as follows: Name: Bernardo Muerong Arellano III Address: Unit 16C, Kingswood Condominium, Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City, Philippines Telephone Number: +63(921)2155266 Upon sending, please PM/YM/or SMS me the details of your name, address and most importantly your MCTN or the shipping/tracking number. For Metro Manila orders, you may also pay directly/personally to me (HabagatCentral1) but you may have to contact me before 21 January 2008 since I'll be leaving for Iloilo and will be there for 2 weeks. Deadline for purchasing for the first batch would be at February 10, 2008. Distribution and Shipping For Metro Manila and suburb orders, you have two options: First: You may claim it personally through me in which it would not incur additional shipping costs. Please do contact me or send me a PM/YM/SMS for claiming your shirt. Otherwise, we will be announcing the date when you can claim your shirts in one meet. Second: For special requests or delivery, we may send in your order directly to your doorstep with additional shipping cost. For Manila orders, shipping cost may have an additional P115 and for Luzon P120. For Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao Shipping: We would like to suggest that the SSCers of Luzon and especially Visayas and Mindanao would agree on one contact person who will be responsible distributing the t-shirts in their locality so that we could send the shirt in bulk...this way it will be more affordable to ship the said t-shirts to any destination in the Philippines. Please do have an agreed assigned representative from your locality by 31 January 2008. Please do send me a PM of your personal information, delivery address and contact number through PM of the said assigned representative. Possible rate may be PhP50 to PhP80 but may be reduced if the orders would increase in your locality, so start informing other forumers there and encourage them to take part of this project. For Overseas Shipping: Standard shipping rates apply either through FedEx or DHL. Distribution: For Greater Metro Manila area orders, we will be announcing when will be the date to claim your t-shirts personally. For Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao orders, you may claim your tshirts from your designated representative. Possible delivery of the t-shirts would be from a week to two weeks after deadline, so most probably we will have our tshirts by mid or late February. For more questions, suggestions or comments, please feel free to send me a private message/PM. Also, for interested parties who want to order, please add up your name on the list so that we could have a complete list of how many will be ordering. I can't get the rationale of Mayor Renacia. Why can't the individual owners of the land take responsibility of their own properties and invest in building up concrete river walls to protect their own lands, plant more trees to hold up the soil .With the looming worse economic crisis on the horizon ,it's a bit daunting to splash money on protecting private properties .Why not the mayor take a massive tree planting initiative every year and continually encourage all town folks from the overall advantages everyone can benefit if people work together for the common purpose . I am not any expert though ,but by laymans experience this works . This is the same thing owners of beach lots battle against forces of nature ,their lands are facing dangers eaten up by the sea. Tony Collingridge, of the United Kingdom Trade and Investment of the Asia Pacific Regional Team, told a select group of reporters he has met with four different UK companies in four different sectors, and they have described the Philippines as a "fantastic place to do business." Collingridge arrived in Manila Wednesday and is leaving Thursday night. He said two of the firms, one a civil engineering consultancy, the other involved in business process outsourcing (BPO), are planning to expand their operations in the country. "Both of these companies are looking at expansion in the Philippines, and doubling the size of their work force," he said. John Charles Chick, director of the UK Trade and Investment of the British embassy here, said the two other British companies, which are engaged in energy and construction, have expressed their enthusiasm in pursuing operations in the Philippines. Collingridge said one of the things going for the Philippines is that its banks have generally escaped the global financial crunch. Asked about the perception that the Philippines has been lagging behind its Asian neighbors, Chick acknowledged that the perception persists. For instance, he said, the perception that it's easier to do business in Vietnam than in the Philippines has resulted in massive investments going into Vietnam. "Perception is such a persuasive word. Companies incorporate risks their business plan and perception is part of that risk," he said. "But the British companies in the Philippines have generally done well, and are pleased with the decision. However, the number of British companies in the Philippines is small," he said. Collingridge said that the Philippines, together with the rest of Asia, has been receiving a lot of attention from the world's investors because most of the growth is happening here. "And when there's growth, there's bound to be real business to be made...The problem with smaller countries like the Philippines is that everyone is looking at the big guys of China and India," he said. "That's why the Philippines has to project their markets look more strongly," he added. Collingridge said that in general, countries like the UK, which are open, well-regulated, competitive, and welcoming to foreigners do better than those that close their borders, restrict foreign ownership, and restrict the way business work. Chick said that UK-Philippine trade relations have come a long way, with some companies like Standard Chartered operating here for 140 years. In 2007, he said, the bilateral trade between the Philippines and the UK reached to $2 billion, with a ratio of 3 to 1 in favor of Philippines. Mayor Antonio Renacia said they hope for the completion of the project to address the complaints of Barangay Calabnugan residents, after the overflow was destroyed by the Dec. 31, 2008 flood. The construction of the bridge started in 2008 with a fund allocation of P2.3 million from municipal and provincial government funds. The concrete foundation and the flooring of the bridge collapsed due to the strong current of the river. Renacia said this problem caused students from Barangay Calabnugan to cross the river to attend classes in Magatas Elementary School and Sibulan High School. Meanwhile, Renacia said the municipality also spent for the re-channeling of the Okuy river because it has affected the nearby private lots in Magatas and Calabnugan areas.*MA How about constructing a bridge similar design as the M. Fernan Bridge between Lapu-Lapu City and Mandaue City? Or suspension bridge which the bridge foot foundation does not have to be near the water. romantic_guy08 January 22nd, 2009, 01:32 AM Would it not entail another additional costs to re-channel a river , dig up another piece of land for part of the a river to flow in ...or to another small river ? Because of this specter of soil erosion many beach lot owners do make decisions to build strong seawalls ,plant more trees on their lands .The solution of re-channeling a river doesn't answer the problem ,it makes more problems in the future plus the cost on top. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This must be another set of major face lift for this part of SU campus, not bad ,old buildings should be replaced. If investors do see a potential money spinning investment to be made in SU campus it's another brighter prospects for the city .If investors do make the final go , hope i can get shots of those buildings before they're brought down to the ground .Still love the old time buildings though for good memories .This must be a good news despite the predicted economic crisis investors are still eyeing for Dumaguete .A good sign ,more brighter prospects for the city . It wont be that easy to bring down buildings inside the SU campus...they have to get the approval of the National Historical Institute if ever they do plan to bring down these buildings since the entire campus is a national historical landmark...this happened during the construction of Jollibee North Road...Guy Hall has been my home for 4 years and I do agree that it really needs a facelift (renovation) but not necessarily to bring it down, there's a lot of history there. The Cebuano Exultor January 22nd, 2009, 01:41 AM Would it not entail another additional costs to re-channel a river , dig up another piece of land for part of the a river to flow in ...or to another small river ? ^^ That report is all fuzzy, IMHO. I think what the article writer wants to say is that an additional channel would be dug so as to alleviate the flow of the river, especially when the river experiences swelling. Yes, it would entail additional costs to do so. However, it minimizes the problem of flooding in the area because there are already two outlets for the floodwaters to flow-out to sea. Note also that most of the residents near the river are families living below the poverty line. You can't surely expect them to allocate money for the contruction of personal concrete river dikes. But, yes, an annual tree-planting scheme initiated by the local government could surely help. nicko January 22nd, 2009, 02:09 AM still active parin pla ang Kalesa dyan sa Dumaguete? The Registrar's Office my be moved to the first floor of the Hibbard Hall while offices at the Hibbard Hall will be transferred to the Oriental Hall. As to when these changes will occur, Pres. I have conversations with NBS people and indeed they are preparing for a new branch. Powerbooks caters to high end clienteles and are usually found in more cosmopolitan areas. I am not sure if the branch in SM NorthWing Cebu is the only Powerbooks branch so far outside Metro Manila. I have been assessing it and upon comparison I could say that Dumaguete overall, compared to Cebu crowd, actually is more sophisticated. What makes Cebu very attractive to high end clienteles is the fact that people are already used to going there for decades. But if we could develop a market catering to the high end segment and be known for it, I guess we would soon have the ability to attract more and more products and markets for this segment given the fact that Dumaguete has always been more upscale compared to other places. Having a Powerbooks branch here is not a far-fetched idea given the fact that we probably have the most intellectually enriching community and culturally inclined people outside Metro Manila. Add to that is the growing expat populace. Another possibility floated is a Goodwill Bookstore branch here. In another development: A 70 seat callcenter would soon open in downtown Dumaguete. ritche January 26th, 2009, 10:03 AM http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/2259/img3103sp8.jpg It’s my single greatest dive for this year. Dive Site: Dumaguete Coconut Oil Mill (DuCOMi) Dive Time: 73 minutes Dive Objective: find the frogfish (well, that was my objective anyway) Depth: 56ft on the sandy sea floor (under the ledge where the big octopus pair was) The main pier was huge, I have no idea how many pillars there were, but it was huge. Two ships were docked during the time we went. There was a mini pier (it might not even be a pier) with six pillars (not sure how many pillars exactly) just off the main pier. The dive begins at the mini pier and then you cross the sandy area as you fin your way to the big momma. The visibility was not so great. It would have been astounding to see the whole pier so clearly. But that didn’t make it any less breathtaking. You think you know how to breathe properly with over two hundred dives behind you, but the colors and the shadows and the numerous critter surprises makes you forget to breathe. The mini pier all dressed in corals, revealed nudibranchs and that frogfish. I got stuck on one of the pillars for a bit. I imagined the coral grasping me by the tank valve reminding me that I was not of their world. I truly wished I could be, even for a day, if only. Camion GOVERNOR Emilio Macias II admitted that he was shocked upon knowing that the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) cited Negros Oriental as among the 20 poorest provinces in the country last month. "I am not sure if we should be thankful or be angry," Macias said during his State of the Province Address (Sopa) Thursday afternoon. He explained that for being considered as one of the poorest provinces in the country, Negros Oriental will receive a total of P1.8 billion in five years. The amount will be given to what the government call as "the poorest of the poor." "This is certainly not a bad deal," Macias said. The governor said he will find out why DSWD classified the province as one of the poorest provinces, adding that the social welfare development department has yet to present its basis. Macias, however, believed that the increasing rate of maternal mortality, malnutrition and infant mortality are the main reasons that Negros Oriental was included in the list of poorest provinces in the Philippines. He said surveys showed that some pregnant women in the province do not visit health centers to avail pre-natal checkups for some reason. Most of them are from the hinterland areas of the province, Macias added. The governor said efforts by the barangay health workers (BHW) to roam around to see the condition of the pregnant women at the hinterland areas are not enough. With this, Macias is planning to build health centers in every barangay to attain basic emergency management of obstetrical cases. To increase agricultural productivity, he said the province has expanded the Government Agricultural Development Center (GadCent) into an integrated demo farm for upland fishery, fruits and vegetable growing, and livestock production. He added the province also strengthened the dairy industry to solve the malnutrition cases as well as to provide livelihood to farmers. The Provincial Government has allotted P1 million for the transport of 150 pregnant hybrid cows from New Zealand through Land O'Lakes Foundation last year. The cows were distributed to farmers in Dumaguete City, Valencia, Bacong and Sibulan. Macias said the program, supported by the United States Department of Agriculture, has contributed to the increase in the volume of milk production in the province in 2008. He said it helps a lot to feed malnourish children in Negros Oriental. However, Macias clarified that both infant mortality and malnutrition rates dropped due to effective advocacy campaign on the reporting of cases, particularly those coming from hinterland barangays. http://www.sunstar.com.ph/dumaguete/guv-not-bad-being-poorest-province jsl_bxu1206 January 29th, 2009, 08:36 PM Upgrading of Amlan hydrothermal plant set Sunday, January 25, 2009 Power firm ICS Renewables Inc. is planning to take over the Amlan hyrdrothermal plant and start its rehabilitation on February 15 this year. Company president Juan Eugenio Roxas told Sun.Star that they would initially invest P15 million to boost the output. Roxas, a native of Dumaguete City, said the company needs about three years to upgrade the plant, which will cost P45 million. He explained that the company will spend P45 million to rehabilitate the 800-kilowatt Amlan hydroelectric plant in Negros Oriental and restore its original capacity. The Amlan hydrothermal plant is currently producing 30 percent of its original capacity. "What we want to do now is to rehabilitate it to restore its rated capacity," he said. The Filipino company, which produces alternative fuels, won the bidding for the plant last month for $230,000 (P11.2 million). ICS Renewables Inc. became the official owner of the Amlan hydrothermal plant after it was awarded a notice of award and certificate of effectivity by the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (Psalm). Roxas said the company obtained the certificate few weeks ago, signaling the effectivity of its asset purchase deal and the start of the 270-day deadline for the Psalm and ICS Renewables Inc. to complete their deliverables and meet the conditions of the sale. Under the deal, he said, ICS Renewables must put up a performance bond of $23,000, equivalent to a tenth of the purchase price, within 10 days. The firm also manages properties for alternative fuels and other environment-friendly equipment, he said. Amlan Mayor Bentham dela Cruz, in a separate interview, said the plant in Sitio Pasalan, Barangay Silab is the first power facility to be built in the province. It is designed to operate as a base load plant, supplying power to the town of Amlan and nearby villages, he said. The sale of the Amlan hydrothermal plant allowed the government to exceed its 70 percent target privatization level for assets of the National Power Corporation (Napocor) in the Luzon and Visayas grids. The level now stands at 73 percent. The Amlan hydrothermal plant highlighted the government's successful power privatization program for 2008. Republic Act 9136 or the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (Epira) of 2001 mandates the sale of Napocor assets to pave the way for retail competition in the power industry. Psalm achieved its 2008 privatization goal after successfully selling the 146.5-MW Panay and 22-MW Bohol power plant package last November. http://www.sunstar.com.ph/dumaguete/upgrading-amlan-hydrothermal-plant-set jsl_bxu1206 January 29th, 2009, 08:48 PM Ayungon PNP adjudged Best Municipal Police Station:banana::banana::banana: January 23, 2009 The police officer who solely defended the La Libertad Police Station which was attacked by elements of the Leonardo Panaligan Command last November 2, 2008 will be awarded with a “Medalya ng Katapangan” from President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo herself this coming January 26 in Camp Crame during the PNP Day celebration. The Ayungon Police Station will also receive its award on the same occasion after it was adjudged as the Best Municipal Police Station all over the country. I went there to check it out. the place is bee--yoo-ti--ful. although, its not yet done..... having dinner with a bird's eyeview of the city and at the boulevard... hows that?? hmm.. something really to look forward to. cyclosimon_89 January 30th, 2009, 03:58 PM P451-M road concreting project calendared BY JUDY F. PARTLOW A total of P451 million in national and local funds have been calendared for a massive road concreting project in the second district of Negros Oriental for this year as part of President Gloria Arroyo’s road network program. Rep. George Arnaiz (Neg.Or, 2nd District) disclosed that Arroyo had approved the project, which shall be up for bidding by next month. Arnaiz expressed hopes that full implementation of the project will start in April. The project covers several individual stretches of road traversing the national highway from the Dumaguete-Bacong boundary passing through the towns of Sibulan, San Jose, Amlan, Tanjay City, Bais City and to the upland town of Mabinay. At present, another project costing P100 million is being implemented, to cover the road stretch from city boundary to Bais City and Mabinay, Arnaiz said. He disclosed that an additional P51 million for the Mabinay stretch has been included in the package, while the rest of the road length from Dumaguete to Bais costs around P390-million. Arnaiz disclosed he is seeking the insertion of another P10 million for the concreting of the Dumaguete to Valencia road, bringing all project costs to a total of P451 million. He has apologized and appealed to the riding public for the inconvenience arising from the soon-to-be implemented road projects, but, he said that once these are completed, road travel will be made easy.*JFP http://www.visayandailystar.com/2009/January/30/negor3.htm nicko January 31st, 2009, 04:36 AM HOT AND FIERY FIREDANCERS @ CLUB EL CAMINO http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/7941/fire1va7.jpg http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/2729/fire2oo2.jpg http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/4822/fire3ne7.jpg nicko January 31st, 2009, 04:37 AM The third 24-hour Jollibee outlet in the city just a stone's throw away from a McDonald's outlet http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/9980/jb1od8.jpg http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/2953/jb2bf8.jpg nicko January 31st, 2009, 04:41 AM KFC's Lot?? http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/2686/kfctb1.jpg nicko January 31st, 2009, 04:42 AM MART 1 CENTRE http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/8941/martonebv2.jpg nicko January 31st, 2009, 04:45 AM http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/3779/portexpansioney2.jpg The Blue, Red and Yellow (Terminal building) areas are now underconstruction and might be done by next quarter. nicko January 31st, 2009, 05:22 AM The Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2070/251/105/612470345/n612470345_5428439_857.jpg http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2070/251/105/612470345/n612470345_5428437_286.jpg http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2070/251/105/612470345/n612470345_5428434_9448.jpg The Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium, the largest fully-functioning theater outside of Metro Manila, was built in 1973 and completed in 1975. Yup from 923 I believe its now down to somewhere around 600+ I think...thats what I ready sa news before... romantic_guy08 February 3rd, 2009, 05:54 AM ^^ Luce's acoustic system is way better than that of CCP. it's been a long known fact.. I'm not sure about the word better, but they have always used the word "Comparable" when comparing Luce's accoustics to CCP... :) nicko February 3rd, 2009, 05:59 AM well, for one, Luce is smaller than CCP then the acoustics should work better in smaller, enclosed spaces. is that how it works? hehehe.. jsl_bxu1206 February 3rd, 2009, 09:15 AM My beloved Luce Auditorium http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2034/1942660018_0ee548ca98.jpg?v=0 by revenui on flickr nicko February 3rd, 2009, 12:47 PM A really big KFC truck is parked on an empty lot in Silliman Avenue. The lot where it parked is the one beside JO's Chicken Main. Will it be KFC's area? If so, then great. Students will flock it. And then when Robs will open, we will have another KFC there..:) http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/1140/optimusprime002xn7.jpg nicko February 3rd, 2009, 12:47 PM ^^ beautiful. nicko February 3rd, 2009, 12:52 PM A really big KFC truck is parked on an empty lot in Silliman Avenue. Larger spaces have better acustics if all else is equal... :) But Luce looks much more modern and better designed than the outdated CCP well, for one, Luce is smaller than CCP then the acoustics should work better in smaller, enclosed spaces. is that how it works? hehehe.. ritche February 3rd, 2009, 01:23 PM http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/3610/colsandersld4.jpg At least in big some big campuses I spot some KFC stores. The probability is high for a KFC branch near Silliman... johnnyS February 3rd, 2009, 01:27 PM KFC. I don't know, but I like Jolliebee fried chicken well enough. Do Filipinos have special taste for KFC? By the way, have you guys heard fo Popoyes Fried Chicken? Now that's some awesome fried chicken. I don't think it's in the Philppines, though. It now looks stunning although not yet fully finished. And I could spot the need for a multilevel parking and commercial center in the area. :) ritche February 3rd, 2009, 01:30 PM A really big KFC truck is parked on an empty lot in Silliman Avenue. Construction of the restaurant could begin soon... ^^Popeye's: I am not sure if there is a branch in Manila, but I saw TGI Friday's in Alabang. ^^I actually like Wendy's (they said this is the most nutritious fastfood and burgers), but I am not sure why they haven't branched out of Metro Manila yet. ritche February 3rd, 2009, 01:34 PM ^^Jollibee Food Corporation is again hiring for another branch of their store. ritche February 3rd, 2009, 01:44 PM http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/1278/196712371928246670cvc8.jpg I guess they opened a branch in Manila about two years ago... nicko February 3rd, 2009, 01:51 PM guys, my apologies for the double posts. i dont have any idea how it happened. maybe SSC's on ag glitch again? hmm.. anyways, im excited for KFC in Silliman. Although, the lot there is a bit small for a sprawling-type KFC.. im picturing a 2-storey KFC there.... johnnyS: I soo love KFC.. i think most pinoys love their chicken. i do love jollibee's chicken, too.. Jollibee's hiring for their fourth branch.. that's good news.. 2 new jollibee's added within 6 months.. now thats fast. nicko February 3rd, 2009, 01:54 PM ^^They have removed the GI sheets covering the MAB Building of SUMC. It now looks stunning although not yet fully finished. And I could spot the need for a multilevel parking and commercial center in the area. :) The reason why my family prefers to go to Holy Child Hospital for healthcare services is that it's just near the CBD and fastfoods are very accesible.. Jollibee and Mcdo are just walking distance from the hospital. SUMC is kinda far from any fastfood stores... So definitely there is a need to have a mall within the complex.. ritche February 3rd, 2009, 01:59 PM ^^With coffee shops and department store, and banks, and internet shops, perhaps. Hmmm, Popeyes in Dumaguete :). ritche February 3rd, 2009, 02:05 PM double post ritche February 3rd, 2009, 02:06 PM Starbucks, not a far fetched reality with the multiplying number of expats. But I love Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. I first saw a branch in Eastwood City. |
