Nice shots of Birmingham!

Thx.....

The first photo was from the top of Red Mountain which goes through the South Side of downtown Birmingham. Homewood is located on the other side of the mountain, which you can see from there as well. You can see from the first shot how the mountain slopes into downtown (the tree - line)

The other shots are of Birmingham's historical district. One of the finest collections of turn of the century historical buildings in the South, including the 1913 City Federal Building (27 floors).

Haven't been there in years. I may have to bring my camera!

We still own property in Birmingham...well 'over the mountain'

I would never live in the city, that place sucks...maybe Vestavia HIlls

or Mountain Brook, or maybe way the hell out 280, or even near

Alabaster, but NO WHERE near the central city...save perhaps some

areas around Highland, Key Circle/Five Points (maybe)

Heck I remember when Valley Road was considered something decent !

It' NOT now...you wouldn't catch me in that area now....even in nice

areas like Brookwood Village have sort of turned....nay if it's not

past 459 I wouldn't venture closer that much...no way

:ohno:

you're paranoid (and maybe prejudicial.) i'd love to move back; i'd even buy a house in Norwood like Dallastexan did.

nice find on the pics, i was there last week and got some pics, but i'll probably post 'em in june or july. it's nice to see progress being made (albeit slowly in most spots) on the older building stock.

Jax and Memphis are nice (well, Memphis seems like it'd be nicer to visit.) as far as your beach comment...

"me fail english? that's unpassable." you're a grammar genius and probably a racist to boot.
