No, it's not.

Looks very nice, and the podium shouldn't be too imposing compared to others in the Marina. I see the top (roof) being an open-air patio/lounge/terrace under the angled spire structure, but that's just a guess.

^^ "Hardrock" refers to a tower that is planned to be build on the plot where Hard Rock Cafe Dubai currently stands. The area is a few hundreds maters from the so-called tallest block

20 to 30 meters? not long to me. In the Netherlands/Amsterdam we often use piles of 19/20 meters just to put a 4 story building on it. For the taller buildings (like mondriaan and rembrand tower) 30 meters is quite normal.

If you really are what you claim to be (in your screen-name), you should know that the length of the piles depends on the type of soil beneath. ;)

However the other supertalls of the same stature in the area, have piles driven to a depth of 40 - 50 meters.

I don't like this tower. The horizontal slats at every level is a little overbearing considering the height. You can see how the architect wanted to avoid a repetitive facade by adding features of interest and various breaks up the facade but these do look like glaring afterthoughts. I love the Calatrava-esque feature at the podium - that really stands out for me.

on Culwulla Diagram for super talls for Dubai, he count this tower at 435m!
I dont know from where he got that but he has almost 33000 qoutes on this site so most probably he know what he is talking about. :lol:

ok, there is a serious problem in Dubai regarding building heights; we dont know the height of many towers specially they are definite skyscraper buildings.
And this one also is an upper super tall !!!!

Nice photos. Dubai still largely looks like one massive construction site, it's going to be incredible to see it upon it all being completed.

Don't think so since it was always like that. Remember, there are two plots there. One is Marina 106 which is right next to the tower on the right and to the left of that is another plot which nobody knows what was going to be on it.

A lot of pictures but any news. I followed this project about 2 years ago. It looks like it hasn't gone in either direction.

even if it was cancelled, I think the plot is a very high demand, it will attract another mega tower. But we have to wait until it comes...

i think that is sad it would have helped dubai turn into 1000 km^2 of 250m+ towers.will appear in simcity 5 as Dubai marina tower.hope it is bulit:cheers:^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
