Necker October 1st, 2003, 08:49 PM It looks like Europe (Maybe France? ;))
Big! October 1st, 2003, 09:33 PM mmm the skyline??
Kommentare October 1st, 2003, 10:31 PM I imagined that Quebec is way smaller :) Now i see that it's big enough ;) Thanks
julesstoop October 2nd, 2003, 12:22 AM This looks like a really huge village. You have so much space over there in Canada. There is no skyline whatsoever however. The only thing slightly comparable in the Netherlands should be a hybrid between Almere en Apeldoorn (which, of course, doesn't exist)
huaiwei October 2nd, 2003, 06:35 AM Hm...still a rather low-rise city to be honest. 6.5/10. ;)
renell October 2nd, 2003, 05:02 PM 4.5/10 not much of a skyline city.
Fabio January 5th, 2004, 12:09 AM 6/10

SoboleuS May 21st, 2004, 01:05 PM 9/10 for old buildings
4/10 for modern buildings
Overall 6.5/10
SeeMacau May 22nd, 2004, 11:18 AM The only Canadian city i know which is rather a low rise city ...

cicarra June 17th, 2004, 05:49 AM is chateau frontnac qualified as a skyscraper?
r2 June 29th, 2004, 02:10 AM yeah they really should either knock down or reclad those brutalist nightmares that do absolutely nothing for this city other than make it look depressing when it could be stunning
Imperfect Ending August 24th, 2004, 02:57 AM 5/10
for skyline
Oaronuviss August 24th, 2004, 07:36 AM I see red x's

The skyline needs some more improvements, but who really cares? If it dies have some more skyscrapers, that is fine, but for a city like this, I don't care about the skyscraper quality. With this being a non-issue with tall buildings, this city is more of the European Historical brand, sometimes a French-Canadian culture, which is more like it anyways, with lots of Francophone people. Otherwise, with the city being historic, it is a wonderful place to be in. The tourist area is at the front near the St. Lawrence River, close to the Chateau Frontnac. I would want to go back for some more touring, what a city. Lack of skyscrapers, and this isn't a big city or shall I say area. 8/10
neilio October 4th, 2005, 07:09 PM beautifull!!
FJP October 4th, 2005, 11:33 PM Nice city with a poor skyline, 7.5/10
Bertez October 5th, 2005, 12:31 AM Although it may not be the biggest or best looking skyline, it is indeed the most unique.
j4893k October 7th, 2005, 06:24 AM One of the most unique in North America.
Boschdijk October 7th, 2005, 10:12 PM The most European-looking city of the continent I think. It looks très adorable! The chateau is very huge and gives the city a medieval skyline.
I give the skyline a 6,5/10 but I'd give the city itself an 8/10.
mtlteg October 15th, 2005, 09:13 PM nicest city ive been to in north america

Yes!! 3/10 Let's keep in mind the city has ONLY existed since 1608!
Chadoh25 August 10th, 2008, 01:33 AM 4/10 - acceptable, but neither tall nor dense.
Actually, its pretty dense for a North American city. I know, I lived there over the summer, as well as in Chicoutimi in Northern Quebec. These pics on here are great but they don't do it justice! Just for its history and beautiful buildings, I give it a 9.0/10.
ExtraMuros August 18th, 2008, 04:02 PM Québec looks like french cities in Britanny, like Cancale or Dinan (old streets of course).
And I think historical cities have skylines, so 8/10.
MDguy August 19th, 2008, 03:38 AM Yes!! 3/10 Let's keep in mind the city has ONLY existed since 1608!
Yes!! Yes!! What a gross little town made up of shacks and huts

i belevie he was talking about the skyline itself not being tall or dense, not the city.

timmy- brissy August 20th, 2008, 01:04 AM It looks nice but not that good in terms of height density and buildings.BUt the old buildings bring Quebec up to a 6/10.
*Jarrod August 21st, 2008, 04:42 AM Beautiful city! I never realized how hilly it was. I thought it was actually was flat... but then again, I've never been there.
I give it an 8... Skyline sucks, but the Chateau makes it up.

Manitopiaaa May 1st, 2011, 11:41 AM 5/10. Where's the skyline. All the above pics show buildings, and low rise ones at that. The 8/10s are not appropriate for this city's skyline.
ssiguy2 June 19th, 2011, 05:42 AM The skyline is great due to the Chateau Frontenac not due to it's few skyscrapers............but then who cares when you are in such an incredibly beautiful, romantic and enchanting city.
The street scene, attitude, grace, beauty all make it an incredibly magical place.

Pedro Paulo Carreira August 19th, 2011, 08:32 PM Quebec ces´t trés beaux et la seconde plus important ville de Canada français.
whitefordj August 20th, 2011, 03:43 AM this is the absolute, most beautiful city in all of north America. hands down. there is no other city on our continent that has the outright, slap you in the lips, wonderland of a city. outstanding to say the least. imo, it give any of the old word cities a big ol run for their historical looks. i just cant see any other north American city having the old world charm that this place oozes. while it may not have the skyscrapers as the other top cities in canada and the USA, it makes up for them by having tall old buildings. for that i give it a perfect ten.
whitefordj August 20th, 2011, 03:44 AM btw. it should be mentioned, if it hasn't been already, that this is the oldest city in all of North America.
kwoldtimer August 20th, 2011, 04:11 AM btw. it should be mentioned, if it hasn't been already, that this is the oldest city in all of North America.
Quebec City is nice, but is not even the oldest city in Canada, let alone the oldest in North America (no matter your definition of North America).
whitefordj August 20th, 2011, 04:53 AM Quebec City is nice, but is not even the oldest city in Canada, let alone the oldest in North America (no matter your definition of North America).
:ancient:one of the, but the way i see it Mexico city is hardly north America. geographically it looks more like central America. after that, it would be the oldest if you consider the fact that it was a real actual city before the others, such as Halifax. they where fishing villages while it was an actual city. which makes it the oldest continually, existing city and not settlement. what i mean is, it was a city and they where not. how long was it a city compared to how long they were considered cities. with that in mind, it would in fact be the oldest city. if you go the other way, it would be like saying a place that had existed for 400 yrs as a town, but as of 6 months ago it finally reaches city status, it would then be the oldest city in canada. NIMO. i would still rightfully consider Quebec to be the oldest s city. it may be that i am completely wrong. but i may be right as well when you consider my arguments. now i have to go because my :madwife: wants me to take here to the fair for some of their awful:eat: so good night and i will catch shit :storm: from you latter, k.
kwoldtimer August 20th, 2011, 05:51 AM North America includes Central America and the Caribbean where many cities were established by the Spanish long before Quebec City, but even if you want to limit yourself to Canada and the USA, Quebec City isn't the oldest city (founded by Europeans). Its founding date of 1608 was later than St Augustine, Florida (1565) and Santa Fe, New Mexico (1607). I know you didn't mean "city" in a legal sense but Quebec City wasn't incorporated until the 1830s (fifty years after St John's became the first in Canada). It is not even the oldest continuously occupied settlement founded by the French, as that honour goes to Tadoussac. Even if you wanted to claim that Quebec City was founded with the Cartier settlement of 1541 (later abandoned), St John, Newfoundland was founded in 1497.
So again, it's nice and it's old, it's just not "oldest".
isaidso August 20th, 2011, 07:29 AM after that, it would be the oldest if you consider the fact that it was a real actual city before the others, such as Halifax. they where fishing villages while it was an actual city.
Halifax was never a fishing village, while St. John's hasn't been one for centuries. ;)
