AtlanticaC5 October 2nd, 2003, 07:44 PM It looked better when it wasn't covered up by all the billboards, but it's cool...8/10
Wu-Gambino October 3rd, 2003, 02:30 AM 9/10, amazing at night.
Kommentare October 3rd, 2003, 10:05 AM But still,it shouldn't been changed :(
Brasil Guy October 3rd, 2003, 04:17 PM even if the building looks great....the billboards destroyed its image, it is a shame that they did it to the building
0/10!!!:moods:
SoboleuS October 3rd, 2003, 05:05 PM Wow, it was a great building!
But now...
Building: 9/10
Billboards: 1/10
Overall: 5/10
renell October 3rd, 2003, 05:50 PM 4.5/10 more of a billboard holder than a building nowadays:(
RafflesCity October 5th, 2003, 12:20 AM I agree with what has been said
7.5
The Messiah October 5th, 2003, 05:18 PM Which tower? It's covered by billboards,i can't rate it this way. Can't see shit of this tower.
2.0/10
Primo October 6th, 2003, 05:07 AM Itīs funny, it was a great building but times square without that building today it wonīt be the same
before: 8/10
now: 6/10
Bratzo October 11th, 2003, 07:54 PM yeah...it looked nice..but now >(
Wisma October 14th, 2003, 11:17 AM Fortunately it's not me who has to work in there. I hope those people see any daylight.
Labrador October 14th, 2003, 10:01 PM It looked much better without the signs all over it; before it was quite a classic. Now, it's not a building, but just an advertising board. However, the big signs are partly why Times Square is so famous, but it's a shame they had to sacrifice this building. :moods:
8/10 for the building beneath...
Stratosphere 2020 October 18th, 2003, 10:12 AM Unique no other place in the World has this. Though the tower that stood there was indeed nice, New York has many of that sort of towers thus it is not a miss for the city. 10 out of 10. Times Square has added that cherry on the cake in making New York a bustling commercialized city.
SteelCity32 November 14th, 2003, 11:28 PM 8.5/10 wow
Fabio November 21st, 2003, 02:48 AM 0/10

james2390 January 20th, 2004, 12:36 AM 10/10, then
Jo January 21st, 2004, 02:30 AM 9/10
I don't mind the billboards at all. Without them Times Square wouldn't be what it is and it makes this one of the most unique skyscrapers around!
I want to see that place with my own eyes one day.
bagel March 3rd, 2004, 09:03 AM I voted 3.
The building is a 10 in my books.
But the billboards?! Where's the building?!
The saving grace is the "Give my regards to pork chops" billboard. I love pork billboards.
7 World Trade June 23rd, 2004, 03:26 AM too much billboards on this thing...
but still, they got rid of the historic facade of this building and replaced with a mostly glass one. so even if u remove the billboards it's still gonna be bad.
so i guess i really don't mind the billboards on the building in its current state, but they should've never ripped the original facade off the building.
8 then, 4 now, so i guess i vote 6 (the billboards are 10 times more interesting than its current state)
hella good June 23rd, 2004, 11:48 AM 7 world trade is correct, they stripped the old building of everything but the structure and covered it in glass and concrete to a 60's style horror! without the MAGNIFICENT billboards it would look like crap!
And an answer to an earlier question - no one works there, the building is empty, it earns enough money from its advertizing that it dosent need tenants. it also dosent have tenants because the billboards block out the light not to mention the fact that its shape dosent allow for much office space.
rayman July 3rd, 2004, 08:40 AM first time I see this tower without billboards....anyway I give it a 2 out of 10 because you can't see a sh*t out of this tower, looks like a bag of billboards stapled up.
redstone July 3rd, 2004, 09:32 AM You can hardly see the actual tower, all you can see are the ads.Yuck...
NapHsu4922 July 13th, 2004, 10:40 PM 10/10 the building dosent look like that anymore and without the billboards it would look horrific. the billboards look awesome at night and times square wouldnt be the same without them.
flex July 25th, 2004, 01:07 AM the billboards make the building look special. 8,5/10
Menino de Sampa July 25th, 2004, 04:05 AM What building? I will give it a 7 because at least the bilboard is much better than it use to be in my country. ;)
Ellatur August 10th, 2004, 02:55 AM wow i never knew it was that old... 10!
GuilhermeC January 15th, 2005, 06:12 AM I had no idea there was such an old building underneath.
Too bad they can't even breathe in there 5/10
Gotta love the adverts though.
LeCom January 15th, 2005, 08:38 PM Centerpiece of Times Square and one of the focal points of the city, possibly the world. It's been there through it all and dominated ever since when it was built and all the classic Broadway shows were going on under it, when Houdini got away from the chains suspended on the side of the buildng, it was also there with a whole new look while whores sold themselves under its base and it's still there, with yet another whole new look, at the intersection of Broadway and 42nd Street, a must have in postcard stores, the centerpiece of the New Year's celebration, and the center of Times Square - the busiest and most exciting area of the most exciting city of the Western Hemisphere. How could you not give that a 10?
There is more to a building than its looks, guys.
therock January 16th, 2005, 02:07 PM 4/10
DamienK January 17th, 2005, 06:45 PM 8/10. So none of the offices inside have views?

uberalles June 17th, 2005, 03:32 AM I hope they eventually restore it back to it's original form.
EastVanGuy June 17th, 2005, 04:35 AM i didnt even know there was a building there... i thought it was just a stack off bilboards...
3/10
AcesHigh June 17th, 2005, 05:09 AM those billboards suck.
Bitxofo June 19th, 2005, 08:02 AM Wow, it was a great building!

Jules June 20th, 2005, 03:39 AM Beautiful building without the advertisements. 9 for the building itself, 7 with the billboards.

TowersNYC October 29th, 2005, 03:35 PM Fortunately it's not me who has to work in there. I hope those people see any daylight.
NO ONE WORKS THERE...THE ENTIRE TOWER HAS NO TENANTS!
Godot October 29th, 2005, 03:40 PM No, it doesn't look awful with the billboards.. it is Time Square for crying out loud!!
But, I am amazed how beautiful it is underneath.
kota16 October 29th, 2005, 04:23 PM I recall a visit to Times Square in 1960, and one of the neon billboards was for Admiral TV. The neon signs were the 'big beat' of NY.
redstone October 29th, 2005, 08:34 PM NO ONE WORKS THERE...THE ENTIRE TOWER HAS NO TENANTS!
Maybe the inside can be turned into discos, nightclubs or bars.
Can attract more people....
And since those outlets do not need windows.
DecoJim December 19th, 2005, 01:10 AM What happened to the Times building was architectural murder. The building was good but not as well desgined as the Flatiron which of course shares the same shape building site. Due to all the New Years Eve TV coverage the billboards have become part of the "culture" so I guess we all have to get used to it.
Original building: 7.5/10
Billboards: 2.5/10 (0/10 for ads in general + 2.5/10 for all the pretty colors)
Overall: 5/10

SYDNEYAHOLIC November 21st, 2006, 03:49 AM Love the billboards but I don't get much of a sense to what the building actually looks like.

MDguy June 11th, 2007, 02:39 AM The building itself is actually very nice, but by taking down the billboards, they destroyed its image, sadly :(. but 8/10 anyway

Taller, Better February 3rd, 2008, 03:43 PM I am surprised how so many people are going on about the billboards being ugly; as has been pointed out, it is TIMES SQUARE! And Times Square is all about signage! LOL! As for the original building, does anyone know how many additions were added onto the original building? Looks like at least one, and possibly two from that illustration. I don't think it is an exceptionally nicely designed old building, but still worth an 8.
Astralis February 3rd, 2008, 05:10 PM Can't see how does it really look without billboards on it but this way I'll give it 8/10. I like these billboards btw :).
