Burj Dubai can then be called a Hyper tall  2co2co May 26th, 2008, 03:28 PM Raise the bar to 600m. I would say, for the time being, make all 600m+ U/C buildings stickies like Burj Dubai thread... Brad May 26th, 2008, 03:42 PM 100+ Highrise 300+ Supertall 500+ Megatall It's simple and obvious because the steps are 200 meter. Who is this simple for? Do you think the quantity of buildings with the heights from 100 to 300 metres equals to those with the heights from 300 to 500? I propose 150-300-600-1200 Skyscraper-Supertall-Megatoll-etc :) helghast May 26th, 2008, 03:45 PM Too much splitting is a bad thing, I don't want to have to click 30 times before I see the threads I want you wouldnt have to, we would put all the current U/C, Pro, Prep, etc togeather in one forum just like the supertall. not like germantower said. but good idea germantower. AutoUnion May 26th, 2008, 03:48 PM 100+ Highrise 300+ Supertall 500+ Megatall 1000+ Maxitall oli83 May 26th, 2008, 03:48 PM I personally think a split in proposals/approvals and U/C would be more useful; the 500+ U/C are almost always on the first page so we don't have to create another category for them, that would only mean more clicks, because I think most of us are intersted in the 300+ and 500+ as well. But I am personally not much interested in these many proposals which never get build and with threads full of "wow"s or political discussions; only if I'm very bored I look would look into this category wjfox May 26th, 2008, 03:51 PM You are wasting your time. There won't be another forum. This has already been discussed ad nauseum. helghast May 26th, 2008, 03:56 PM and why is that ? wjfox May 26th, 2008, 04:01 PM Things are fine as they are. We simply don't need another forum. ZZ-II May 26th, 2008, 04:08 PM in the supertall forums it is no problem to find a thread because of the Quicklink-thread, but the highrise section is a total chaos, takes always a long time to find the right thread.....there should be some splitting i think, maybe UC and Approved/Proposed 44p May 26th, 2008, 05:39 PM I think we should have a megatall forum. There are to many 300-500m threads.:banana::banana: LMCA1990 May 27th, 2008, 12:37 AM I'm undecided over it... a sub-forum will do I guess cause it's not like there are too many megatalls anyway ;) Master Roshi May 27th, 2008, 01:02 AM Who is this simple for? Do you think the quantity of buildings with the heights from 100 to 300 metres equals to those with the heights from 300 to 500? I propose 150-300-600-1200 Skyscraper-Supertall-Megatoll-etc :) I was just thinking mathematical. There are a lot of buildings in progress right now between 300 and 500, therefore above 500 would be a nice new subgroup. There are not so many buildings above 600 m but with 500+ a new section could be usefull in my opinion. Just think about this, or the buildings between 500 and 600 have to be in an already very crowded section of buildings measuring 300 to 600 meters, or you could leave out the "upper hights" (500+) and create a more appropriate place for them? Mindcrasher May 27th, 2008, 10:51 AM But we have a supertall section! Lightness May 27th, 2008, 01:05 PM That would become a truly empty forum so just say no. Joy Machine May 27th, 2008, 04:21 PM in the supertall forums it is no problem to find a thread because of the Quicklink-thread, but the highrise section is a total chaos, takes always a long time to find the right thread.....there should be some splitting i think, maybe UC and Approved/Proposed Agreed...that thread is madness. Its difficult to find anything. I wish it were laid out like the supertalls where it had a quick links page so you could narrow your choices by city AltinD May 27th, 2008, 06:25 PM I haven't visited the highrise section since somewhere in 2007. :shifty: ZZ-II May 29th, 2008, 01:44 PM  ^^ christos-greece May 29th, 2008, 07:26 PM I think yes :) M II A II R II K May 30th, 2008, 01:14 AM Agreed...that thread is madness. Its difficult to find anything. I wish it were laid out like the supertalls where it had a quick links page so you could narrow your choices by city With the search function there is a way to list threads all from one city. In search you would: Highlight "Highrises". Under the "Key Word(s):" field there's a drop down field where you would select "Search Titles Only". Under Show Results as you would select "Threads". And in the search field you would just type the city name and then all the threads from that city would appear, since the city name is in the title and with those selected settings that's exactly what it would do. VelesHomais May 30th, 2008, 01:24 AM No. But what I don't get is why the skyscraper world forum called "Highrises"? Highrises are buildings that are lower than skyscrapers, not lower than supertall skyscrapers. lowrise > midrise > highrise > skyscraper > supertall skyscraper Ni3lS May 30th, 2008, 07:57 PM in the supertall forums it is no problem to find a thread because of the Quicklink-thread, but the highrise section is a total chaos, takes always a long time to find the right thread.....there should be some splitting i think, maybe UC and Approved/Proposed That's a good idea! or maybe by continent? After the many panama city threads, | South/central America | Europe | Asia | Africa | North America :) M II A II R II K May 31st, 2008, 12:12 AM I doubt there are that many projects above 500 M to warrant getting it's own forum. I doubt it would even fill a third of a page, which would also do little to free up any space from where they were taken out of. invincible May 31st, 2008, 10:43 AM People who set up forums without thinking about usability or just effective information management inevitably end up with an excessively micromanaged group of forums, which achieve nothing but more arbitrary categorisations - and that's a bad thing. There are pages of project threads in the forums for each Australian state, mixed with other useful information (amongst less useful stuff). The list of links posted in a sticky helps, and failing that, the search is there for a reason. |
