Leeuwarden needs more towers! 6,5
rdj October 27th, 2003, 09:48 AM A few more pictures because these two don't do it much good. There's more than two buildings as you can see. Unfortunately the only picture I have that shows them all is a 5 MB panorama.

Eisso June 4th, 2004, 05:24 PM I like the skyline sofar. A city does not hav to have lots of scrapers to be beautyfull, Ljouwert proves that!
7.5/10
J@ckal! January 12th, 2005, 10:38 PM Can't help but giving this city (...my city ;-)) 7/10. Simply because you have to take into acount it's a small town. And like RDJ already stated..... there are more than 2 towers!
Djoez February 1st, 2005, 11:36 AM I hope too see more towers in L,warden in the nearby future ,but i must admit achmea is impressive 7/10 :eek2:
Wssps March 25th, 2005, 09:49 PM Ljouwert is a nice town, it doesn't need big buildings.
MattSal June 25th, 2005, 10:00 PM No pictures, but I'll give it a 6/10.

nice modern boxy tower, but that's it -> 4/10
Ramses May 31st, 2007, 11:32 AM Leeuwarden is beautiful in the way it is. Okay, there are just two towers. That makes a wonderfull contrast with the low surroundings. In the near future no new towers will arrise because of the new NATO highrise rules from the nearby militairy airport. Leeuwarden has a lot of other qualities which are not shown in here. The historical downtown, the canals and the typical workers houses for example. Those aspects allong with the highrises makes the city complete! No more towers necessary.
Keep the new high boxes in the other cities which cannot be destroyed anymore

1 mooie toren van Bonnema maar wat een afgrijselijke zooi lelijke blokjes eromheen. Was vanmiddag in de Tesselschadestraat - saai, vormloos, ambitieloos, dorps. Snel weer terug naar huis gegaan
wazcaster May 27th, 2008, 06:28 PM 3/10 - Two good sized towers (2 points), a high church spire (1 point), and a couple of reasonably tall tower blocks (1 point). The city loses 1 point because the towers stick out like sore thumbs, and there are no mid rises to level that out.
SimsPlanet2 May 27th, 2008, 07:32 PM Nice skyline for only 90,000 inhabitants. More towers would be nice.
SFOMike May 29th, 2008, 01:40 AM Leeuwarden is a beautiful, historic city and has a great inner city. Tesselschadestraat isn't the best example of what the city has to offer. There are mid-rises scattered about, but no central skyline. Still, a wonderful place with a special atmopshere.

Mighty Maussie October 11th, 2008, 10:09 PM Had to give my own hometown a 6, no more. Although there is some nice midrise next to the two towers (hmmm, Tolkien?), it is too much spread out to really make an impressive skyline, as seen from the west:

Ramses November 30th, 2008, 11:04 AM In my opinion one of the best skylines in the Netherlands! It is not just the number of the buildings that count, but the way the buildings create a recognizable skyline. Even a few buildings can do that. No other city in the Netherlands has such an iconic skyline as Leeuwarden, the few buildings define the skyline in an unique way.
Beat this!
