A few more pictures because these two don't do it much good. There's more than two buildings as you can see. Unfortunately the only picture I have that shows them all is a 5 MB panorama.

Leeuwarden is beautiful in the way it is. Okay, there are just two towers. That makes a wonderfull contrast with the low surroundings. In the near future no new towers will arrise because of the new NATO highrise rules from the nearby militairy airport. Leeuwarden has a lot of other qualities which are not shown in here. The historical downtown, the canals and the typical workers houses for example. Those aspects allong with the highrises makes the city complete! No more towers necessary.

Keep the new high boxes in the other cities which cannot be destroyed anymore

3/10 - Two good sized towers (2 points), a high church spire (1 point), and a couple of reasonably tall tower blocks (1 point). The city loses 1 point because the towers stick out like sore thumbs, and there are no mid rises to level that out.

Leeuwarden is a beautiful, historic city and has a great inner city. Tesselschadestraat isn't the best example of what the city has to offer. There are mid-rises scattered about, but no central skyline. Still, a wonderful place with a special atmopshere.

Had to give my own hometown a 6, no more. Although there is some nice midrise next to the two towers (hmmm, Tolkien?), it is too much spread out to really make an impressive skyline, as seen from the west:

In my opinion one of the best skylines in the Netherlands! It is not just the number of the buildings that count, but the way the buildings create a recognizable skyline. Even a few buildings can do that. No other city in the Netherlands has such an iconic skyline as Leeuwarden, the few buildings define the skyline in an unique way.

Beat this!
