The Singapore Flyer, the world's largest observation wheel (for now), opened in March this year.

Here are some pics taken by forumers and the first pic is from the official website of the Singapore Flyer.

^^

That is the construction site of the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=354746). And yes, that is a new road on the site. Beneath the road will be a new subway station and its tunnel.

Really cool! The same company that produced that wheel (and also the London eye) announced that they were putting their first North American wheel here in Orlando! I'm really excited, although ours won't be as tall.

Spectacular views of Singapore's skyline from that wheel, i like it. Can't say the same about that new project.. ugly by the renders.

Awesome, looks like observation wheels are the new craze over obs. towers.
Melbourne is currently building the world's 3rd tallest which is almost complete and will be 120m tall. The London Eye is 135m (I believe).

Couldn't even imagine. Surprised Branson didn't buy the naming rights if this one is bigger.

These big wheels dont look very nice on the skyline, however they afford amazing views in a city with no natural high viewing points.

this wheel won't stay the largest for long - berlin is getting a 185m tall one now. and Im pretty sure there are even taller planned now (probably in dubai or something)

the singapore wheel looks great though

Looks great and cant wait to go on it in a few weeks time. I dont like the barrel shaped pods, not very futuristic looking. I wonder if it will become as famous and as much of a destination as the London eye?

I like it, but I wish it were closer to the CBD, so you can have the skyline right in yout face!!!

Wait for the completion of Marina Bay Sands resort in 2010. It has a 1 hectare rooftop skypark on the top which should offer a closer look at the skyline!

Should have been put in a better location within singapore as the london eyes location is within london.
