Just bought the deluxe edition today, with SC4 and Rush Hour, all for $39.99 (US). Rush Hour alone cost $49.99. Kind of a slimey thing for Maxis to do, huh? People who bought the original game have to pay a total of $100 for both. What is the reasoning for this? I obviously got a good deal, but it sucks for other people.

Does anyone else seem to notice that the pop up advisories seem to pop up more often and even if you're cheating, you still get the pop ups for electrical and water?

Overall though I like it the upgrades and hope there are more to follow.

I've got SC4 and Rush Hour! They are great.

But is there any way to make a random region or city terrain? I can't figure it out. When I create region it is either all land or all water.

There is no random terrian generator in the game. There is one at SimCity's website. I never bother, I would rather just add in mabye a lake and call it flat than have to take forever to make a nice hill. :bash:

yeah, this is SIM CITY, not SIM LANDSCAPE.

although it is cool to see how things build into hills.

True. I like the maps that have the terrian for you. Build a nice low density suburb there and zoom in on it and watch it go by. Now, with my big cities I am zoomed out so much I can not see traffic.

I would like for them to add a terrian generator (for a region) on there. Then you go in and fine tune it. That always worked for me in SC3 though you could not build on hills there!

I really need to get SC4, SC3000 is so lame compared to this. :guns1:

I finally got Rush Hour the other day. After read about Rush Hour increasing demand, but I didnt expect this much increase. My lack luster city suddenly grew skyscrapers all over the place. A big hit is the traffic, my steller traffic during SC4 play is now quite poor with Rush Hour. Since I dont plan on doing any major destruction to put in Avenues or Highways, I guess I'll have to find more places for busses/subways, etc. Another big change i've noticed is in SC4 the cities that were making lots of money, are now losing money with rush hour, and the cities that were losing money before, are making a ton.

Here you can see how my city progressed. I was actually at 265,000 people before getting Rush Hour, and in 1 day of playing it jumped to 364,000, and then its now up to almost 420,000 people. As you can see from the pictures I've designed my city to not be dense wherever I can put it. I like it to go from dense skyscrapers in the downtown/malibu area, to medium, to low density as the city spreads out, with a few clusters of medium highrises in various locations. So definatly nothing spectacular,
but growing fast and fun. :)

That region is awsome! You are right about the sudden 'jump' in growth. Some of my cities just boomed! Others went right down the tube too. :( Oh well. I love Rush Hour!

thanks for the compliment. Eventually I think I will need to put another industrial city in, but im not sure where yet. I also look forward to starting the citie's left of Malibu and Downtown. They should grow immediately because I will have a large surrounding population by then.
