Hmm....this one's a toughie to interpret. Yet another night of....

1. loneliness and depression
2. boredom and idle thoughts
3. waiting for her next "john" to walk in her room

yeah, there's a lot of ways to interpret the photo

It reminds me of the classic movie The Fly which was remade by David Cronenberg later. The original version was about a scientist experimenting with matter transference machine he invented and while experimenting with himself, a fly entered the chamber accidentally exchanging one arm and his head with that of a fly which was in the transfer chamber.

The wife was left with no choice but to euthanize the human with the fly head and arm. Meanwhile, the fly with the human head ended up in a spider's trap and was about to be devoured by the spider while he screamed with his little voice "Help!" "Help!"

The inspector investigating the case who was incredulous at first, ended up to swatting the fly before it got eaten up by the spider. Sad, but it just had to be done.

Well, this time in that photo, it's the Spider's turn. Like The Revenge of the Fly.

I'm not afraid of spiders but this one made me cringe a bit, which is strange because its dead. lol. Maybe it's the color, I don't usually see a bright yellow spider and instinct tells me this one could leave a nasty bite. Or it may be those little, itch-inducing hairs or those long, skinny, creepy legs.

It's a spider, the big harmless ones that frequent my house (or most houses here). I made it the yellows stand out to make it look more "toxic"

I like how the horizon is perfectly straight and devoid of any objects that can obscure the view and its continuity. The little outrigger gives some perspective as to how expansive the sea is. I like it a lot! :okay:

good. me dayami pa talaga. i remember when i was in high school. or elementary ata. nagpapaanak ako ng inahin. you need to be there to assist the mother pig. kasi dapat punasan ang ilong ng piglet para mabreak yung tissue at makahinga siya. amazing experience! :okay: the photo reminds me of that.

xp, did you know that baboys are one of the most dangerous domesticated animals?
don't expose them sa forest because within weeks, they well become wild... study shows that domesticated pigs easily adopt with a new environment, when one is released in the wild, physical changes do occur and the pig will act as if it is a wild boar.

when it comes to being wild... cats have this "feline" instinct that drives them to kill and kill.hehehe... not the same with dogs though since the canines can be thought to care for other animals. Cats do have this "kill little creatures" instinct with them.

pigs are war freaks! believe me! just watched a show about them. when 3 newborn pigs(of different mothers) were placed in a big box... nagkagatan sila ng nagkagatan.wahaha and they are very competitive when it comes to food.

Oo nga the sun is getting too much attention, if only I had framed it better that the sun was more to the right. Yes, I used a flash. It looked interesting sa LCD kase but not sure if many would agree.

Aside from a very well composed photo, I'd like to know your frame of mind, or your thought process on setting up and capturing it. There's got to be a story behind it somewhere. ;)
The photo was shot at the back of the apartment of my friends, same location as last pic I entered in the FPC entitled "The Face of My Love (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=582996)." As you can clearly see the location is very messy with (contruction) debree (and bottles of beer piling up), which I didn't set up but added texture to the photo. I just found the flower and the burnt piece of paper lying around and thought it would be a great to have them together in the shot.

The flower was used by a friend of mine who recently got "busted" by her girl friend. He set up an elaborate plan to win the girl's love by showing her pictures of the places they used to hangout (handed out by some friends), making signboards with short messages for the girl (held by more friends), and lastly by giving her three flowers (personally). Unfortunately, before he could give her the flowers the girl made a run for it (literally). He then left the flowers in the backyard, only to wither in the neglected backyard. Good thing, I was able to make good use of it before it did ;) As for the burnt paper, I don't know why it ended up there.

So if there's any emotion tied to the photo it would be from my friend, who offered his love to the girl but that love was no longer reciprocated. I'm using the black rose as a metaphor to my friend, who used to offer something unique and special to his girlfriend but his girlfriend no longer want his black rose thus the burnt paper, which symbolizes her rejection.

There is a warmth there between them.
They certainly seem far happier than the work they are doing would normally make you feel.

They (the families in that community) actually make a decent income from seaweed production, as I've heard. They're really lucky to be so blessed.

Some guso are reddish or brownish in color in Bikol kasi.
