I think it's worldwide known that Israel is much more developed than any mideastern country in any field or isn't it? I don't see any reason for this "complex" Zohar has. There aren't two sides to be supported, I am not against you or Israel, you know yourself that we understand eachother quite well. (Although I don't support Israeli policy I like Israel as the only open minded and democratic country in the region) First I didn't know that Israel had such an image worldwide (I can't still imagine that) second if you want to present Israel the way it is in real then show your Hi-tech industry, your mediteranean cities, warm pictures with cool street scenes etc.. And yes I wish we could organize such events in Turkey too but still I think the way you're doing it is superficial, I don't think that you can change minds by showing these pictures. And Istanbul has a gay week, even about 2 years ago I suddenly find myself in gay parade in Istiklal Avenue while i was shopping, thousands of gays were walking and singing songs, I guess they organize same thing every year for 1 week.

You probably see gay people everyday but you just don't know it, since most gays don't parade in the streets all the time in their underwear screaming how gay they are and they probably aren't comfortable being 'out' for various reasons. See this is the issue I have with gay parades sometimes. Gays everywhere are fighting for their rights and trying to show that they are "normal" but then these parades give most people the wrong impression so then these pride festivals become counterproductive.

On the other hand I guess people shouldn't care what other people think and just live and have a good time. Nice pics by the way Zohar, the love parade seems cool also. Many people around the world have wrong views of Israel I think.

I believe that the reasons for gays, bi-sexuals and lesbians to over express themselves is that they have been prejudiced against and have been scorned by society for many years, they are suddenly finding that they can now express themselves in many countries and are making a statement that they are also part of society. Some may find this offencive but I see it a bit like how some ultra-religous people are acting in Turkey after the AKP came to power where they have suddenly become more vocal and have an "in your face" attitude. As such differences start becoming more acceptable and more part of the norm, people who have been sent into the sidelines for many years will start being less vocal and less "in your face".
