A bunch of vintage Jeep enthusiasts belonging to the Chennai chapter of a Motor Club decided to meet up beachside for some offroading fun and to check out a 1-ton ex-Army truck that one of the members had purchased. This event was held in honor of the 1-ton. I was a participant and i'm posting these pics for motor enthusiasts here.

Thanks to all for your comments. Re:trash..the Metro train station where we met, was undergoing a renovation, so lots of gravel, debris, sand and trash. But, this is on the service lane. The main road is maintained impeccably, i must say!

this truck made it on surfaces where other 4X4's would have crumbled...the terrain here is a dangerous mix of gnarly weeds and sand...great for offroading!..

looks like a great day out such nice pictures Monkey1, its very refressing to see 4x4 used off road and proper enthusiast drivers having a good time. The Bay of Bengal view is excellent and so it the nissan 1ton truck on the green plants. Hopefully you dont get into trouble with the local environmenatist :tongue2:

I'm not sure of the engine capacity on these Jeeps. I know of the old yellow MM540.it has a 4000cc 340bhp engine in it. The rest i will check with my friends and post the information.
