GTB to Finance Rosehill Group's $350mn Kaduna City Project
( 01.08.08 )

Not less than 350million dollars has been ear-marked by Rosehill Group Limited in its bid to develop the new Kaduna city to an international standard.

The chairman of the company, Mr., Suleiman Yahya, who made a presentation to the Kaduna state governor, Architect Mohammed Namadi Sambo over the Golf course and other developments in the new Kaduna town during a courtesy call on him at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, stated that "so far, $50million is on ground for the commencement of the new Kaduna City project while Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) will provide the remaining $300million for the company to execute and complete the project."

According to the chairman of the company, the architectural design and plan of the new Kaduna city will have the northern context in terms of its symbol and flair. He added that the company will cover 140 hectares of land in the new city, saying that 10 per cent of the whole project goes to Rose Hill Company for construction and development.

Mr. Yahya further explained that "between 250 and 300 houses, offices, mixed used building, 1000 unit apartment, hotel with about 200 rooms, single family houses, mansion type, duplexes, Golf Club house among others are to be constructed by the company".

He said that the company's objectives are to revamp a-start-in-mortgage marketing in Kaduna, creating wealth and infrastructure and also attracting private investors into the new city, stressing that the project will be completed within the period of six years.

Governor Sambo in his response, stated that the final plan for the city has already been approved six weeks ago, adding that contract for the construction of 200 hospitals in the new city would soon be awarded. He said plans for water and sewage structure have also been concluded.

The governor also directed the Commissioner of Land and Survey to give detail plans of the new city a final layout with driveways like that of Manhattan, US and Dubai, saying that he was delighted with the fantastic proposal and presentation by Rose hill as they are the first company to present a complete package to develop the city into its desired standard.

Right, though they aren't centerpieces of the construction going on in the such cities, they are supplementary projects built in conjunction with the mega projects. :ohno:

Nigeria: N2 Billiob Lekki Green City Estate Unveiled

By Dada Jackson/ 5 October 2009

Lagos — THE FAST developing Mowe/Ofada axis in Ogun State has added another development to its growing list following the unveiling of "Green City Estate," a residential scheme estimated to gulp about N2 billion.

Managing Director of Future Bridge Limited, promoters of the ultra-modern estate, Mr. Akinlabi Akinrinade, told media executives last week at a parley in his office in Lekki that the estate was a revolution in the annals of estate development in Ofada.

According to him, the estate, which consists of about 200 units, would change the face of Ofada and bring about the influx of upscale Nigerians to the neighbourhood.

Akinrinade pointed out that the estate would on completion erase the erroneous impression that Ofada is for the low class of the society.

Green City estate which comes in 200 units of three-bedroom detached bungalows with ensuite rooms goes for N10 million per unit.

The estate has features and facilities such as sizable plots, ensuite rooms, paved roads and street lighting.

Akinrinade stated further that Green City houses are separated from each other by at least 10 metres, adding that a park with game and swimming would be provided while an imposing shopping mall would welcome visitors to the estate because of its proximity to the main gate leading to the estate.

Apparently in line with its name, the estate features an expansive green area, making it environmentally-friendly.

He listed other facilities to include hospital, police post, high quality interior finishing, cubicle bathing rooms, central water supply, fire station and a school.

For all these facilities, the company will contract the maintenance of the estate to a reputable maintenance concern, while the marketing of the estate has been given out to Cross and Churchill Realtors Limited.

He hinted that the payment scheduled include five percent (N500,000) on application, 15 per cent on foundation (N1.5 million), 30 per cent on lintel (N3 million), 30 percent during finishing (N2 million) and 20 per cent (N2 million) on completion.

Akinrinade said that the company was discussing with a reputable finance institution for the purpose of making available mortgage facilities for those who may want to avail themselves of such opportunity.

Green City Estate, he noted, is not being financed by any bank but added that revenue from the sister company, St Aakins, was being channeled into the development of the estate.

It sounds as if it will be located at Ofada, rather than at Lekki.

^^ this projects looks like its for Abuja going by how one of the descriptions spells Abuja as "Abuya". Looking at info on the map makes it seem like it will be built along the expanding Abuja Airport expressway, but can't really tell. Project looks nice, hopefully it gets built.
