View Full Version : State of the Week: Missouri xzmattzx June 16th, 2008, 04:52 PM Discuss the state of Missouri. charmcity7 June 16th, 2008, 05:02 PM The Jay Hawks are great since they beat Carolina. erbse June 16th, 2008, 05:03 PM Why not a weekly photo thread 'bout the States? Or is there already smth like that? Cajun Dude June 16th, 2008, 07:08 PM This is my fav. shot of the skyline from Busch stadium: http://www.countryinns.com/chi/images/hotels/MOOFALL/busch_450.jpg St. Louis is a great city, probably the city with the most culture in the Midwest. One of the most under-appreciated cities in the U.S, IMO. I was fortunate enough to visit last summer to attend some Cardinals games, nothing better than watching a Cards win and then hitting the downtown nightlife scene. STLCardsBlues1989 June 16th, 2008, 10:49 PM I love Missouri. Born and raised here. I like St. Louis a lot, too, though I've never lived there. Missouri is beautiful year-round. 5.8 million people call it home. IraGlacialis June 16th, 2008, 11:06 PM Proud Missourian here. Love both rural and urban worlds. The Jay Hawks are great since they beat Carolina. Um... wat Why not a weekly photo thread 'bout the States? Or is there already smth like that? I think this counts as that. At least I hope it counts as that. charmcity7 June 17th, 2008, 05:10 PM Um...the University of Kansas JayHawks (you know...'Rock Chalk JayHawk, K-U'). They beat Carolina in the NCAA men's b-ball championship this year. You live in Missouri, you should know that. by the way, I'm a Duke fan. IraGlacialis June 17th, 2008, 09:55 PM Um...the University of Kansas JayHawks (you know...'Rock Chalk JayHawk, K-U'). They beat Carolina in the NCAA men's b-ball championship this year. You live in Missouri, you should know that. by the way, I'm a Duke fan. I'm not a sports person (except when taking pictures of it), so I'm a tad ignorant on that subject. It's just a comment about KU in a MO thread threw me off a bit. But I think I can understand the relevence of this. I think... charmcity7 June 17th, 2008, 11:34 PM Oh, :) understandable. The new 'Power and Lights district' in KC is pretty nice as well. I checked it out during march madness and I liked what I saw. IraGlacialis June 18th, 2008, 04:58 AM Anyhoo... let's start close to home. Downtown KC Liberty Memorial pics taken January 2008. The rest of them taken June 2007. http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/9004/img0919xm7.jpg http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/490/img0943ew5.jpg http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/1157/p6010022tr8.jpg http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/1981/p2190057xc7.jpg http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/7076/p2190051tp8.jpg http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/8199/p2190047he3.jpg http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/1967/p6010002ee0.jpg http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/8475/p6090289wa2.jpg http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/5461/p6090284di7.jpg http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/2773/p6090291yh7.jpg http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/7305/p6090283ic6.jpg Evergrey June 18th, 2008, 05:38 AM one of my favorite Southern states IraGlacialis June 18th, 2008, 05:41 AM one of my favorite Southern states Which reminds me of this fact: Northerners call it a southern state, Southerners call it a northern state, Easterners call it a western state, and Westerners call it an eastern state. STLCardsBlues1989 June 19th, 2008, 05:29 AM It's mostly midwestern. With a touch of southern. I've had this debate before. I would post some pics, but I don't really own any, so I'm not allowed to post them. IraGlacialis June 19th, 2008, 06:49 AM St. Louis More can be found from here: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=612615 http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/8417/img4404xu6.jpg http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/6047/img4556zg6.jpg http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/9734/img4565yt5.jpg http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/8808/img4558ja9.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/6097/outsidenk2.jpg http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/2893/pillarsar5.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/6288/mainwg2.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/5865/domerd8.jpg irving1903 June 20th, 2008, 06:26 PM ^^ OMG :eek2: what is the name of that church ? IraGlacialis June 20th, 2008, 07:05 PM what is the name of that church ? The Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. Location of the Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis. Largest collection of mosaics in the world. erbse June 22nd, 2008, 12:58 AM What about that terrible flood? Did it already reach St. Louis? STLCardsBlues1989 June 22nd, 2008, 04:06 AM It effected some people in the metro area. I don't think it damaged any of the city. There were people recently watching the river rise at the river front. Some towns just north of St. Louis were washed out. Evergrey June 22nd, 2008, 04:24 AM anybody have pics of Cape Giradeau or Chilicothe? IraGlacialis June 22nd, 2008, 09:58 AM Missouri state capitol in Jefferson City.
