If they could give that city a skyline it would really complement the scenery! Not very good at the moment though 5/10

I remember watching a program on TV many months ago (it was either on Discovery, Travel, or the History Channel) that featured Juneau and the impending doom that lies on the steep mountains that encirlce the city. I can't remember if they were talking about an avalanche or a mud/rock slide, but whatever the case, it has happened before and the "experts" said it's only a matter of time before the city gets burried again. It was kind of spooky.

Anyway- not much of a skyline here, but not too bad for 30,000. I give the skyline a 5.

Big!

Even if the population was 10 people, IT DOESN`T HAVE A SKYLINE and that's what we're rating. (PERIOD)

So, 4/10

SKyline also realtes to landscape
Landscape 9/10
Skyline impact 2/10
Appearance of buildings 5/10

There isn't much of a skyline plus the mountains only make the buildings look smaller. But good for a 30,000 pop.

9. what is the tallest building here? looks like iqaluit with mountains.

canada-us pairing:
yellowknife (17,000) is to anchorage (300,000). waterfronts!
whitehorse (23,000) is to fairbanks (35,000). interior mountain cities.
iqaluit (6,500) is to juneau (30,000). both are low-lying skylines.

thank God there's no avalanche there.
i know alaska can improve their skylines.

i understand why juneau doesn't have that much of a skyline. because it lies near the ring of fire. but, whitehorse, also lies on the ring of fire, but is is starting to have skyscrapers due to lack of space. juneau in some time will build skyscrpaers and won't care about the fault line anymore (like vancouver did).
