Pasay opens business district in reclamation area
By Julie M. Aurelio
Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 01:12:00 03/07/2008
MANILA, Philippines – A new business district with classy hotels, entertainment centers and docking facilities for yachts and cruise ships is expected to rise in Pasay City’s reclamation area.
Mayor Wenceslao Trinidad signed Wednesday afternoon a memorandum of agreement with the West Marina Bay Development Inc. for the development of idle bay areas or reclaimed shorelines in Pasay.
The P15 billion Pasay Near Shore Development Project is expected to be bigger than the SM Mall of Asia complex that occupies 1.2 square kilometers.

tama ba ang tingin ko.. na off-shore yung plan nila.. that is.. magrereclaim pa sila extending to the bay?
hehehe.. di ako makapag streaming sa office kasi ehehhe

Dun sa video, they said it will be on top of a oil-rig like platform of some sort. I guess it wouldn't need "reclamation" kumbaga parang manila ocean park like standing on posts or columns

Nyay! Parang nakakatakot naman yan.
Three kilometers ba ang layo ng mini-city na yan from the shore?
In fairness, maganda yung land plan nila. Like shells. And the lighthouse thing......

June 23rd, 2008, 01:57 PM

June 23rd, 2008, 10:55 PM
ano pa ba kc ang purpose ng lighthouse dun, just for a useless landmark? kasi obsolete na ang mga lighthouse ngayon, nakakahiya naman kung gagawa parin tayo nun for what? it's been obsolete since naimbento na yung mga advance navigational system including the GPS.... sana gawing muti-purpose nalang yung lighthouse na gagawin nila, something like those towers that can receive multi-signals like radio waves, etc...

hmmm... parang sobrang costly ito ahh.. plus.. it would not be good for Mall Of Asia as their unobstructed view of the Manila Bay sunset will be obstructed by this 'futuristic' structure...

parang isang pangarap ng isang mayor. hehe. mukhang mananatiling pangarap lamang. well, up untill torism bay is a success already. baka sakaling matuloy ito.

gusto ko yung lighthouse, kahit obsolete na.. it is reminiscent of the grandeur of manila.. it sets the mood for the whole west marina bay project.. also, there will be a more grand tower, which is the pagcor tower, so lighthouse is a good option, imho..
but its kind of dangerous in typhoon seasons.. imagine hurling shattered glass from west marina to mall of asia.. just my imagination, may not be possible at all..

pero guys yung mga oil rig sa ibat-ibang bansa survive the typhhon di ba? i mean is the type of system they will use is the same to the oil rig! and guys i remembered na may ilang structure sa netherland na nakatayo sa tubig for me i go for it yun nga lang dapat maayos yung pag-bubuild nito!

Sana matuloy 'to.

shattered glass won't reach mall of asia... kasi the marina will be 3 kilometers out to the sea...
i think that they have typhoons and earthquakes in their mind when they thought of this...

The project seems to be very promising but they would need earthquake-proof supports.
The Marikina Fault may ruin all the bay developments.
They should also think twice or thrice about designing it kasi typhoon-prone ang 'Pinas!
Pero go go go Wesma Bay!

sige na sige na... what's the connection of MARIKINA in this project in PASAY?
panalo na ang "QUEEN CITY OF ASIA"! hAHAHAHHAHA... queer...
Ang connection ng Marikina and Pasay ay:
The Valley Fault System The Valley Fault System (VFS), formerly called Marikina Valley Fault System (MVFS), has been recognized since 1924 through studies conducted on Philippine geology and mineral resources. Since then Filipino and foreign researchers have studied this zone of weakness where blocks on the crust of the earth have moved past each other by sliding. Such a zone of weakness where movements have occurred is technically called a fault.
Consisting of two major faults - the East Valley Fault (EVF) and the West Valley Fault (WVF) - the VFS is located about 5 kilometers east of the center of Metropolitan Manila.

akala ko rin dati haka haka lng siya kaya di ko pinapansin yun pala tuloy pala itong project na ito. ang pagkakaalam ko eh di naman siya katabi ng moa but its under the municipality of pasay may seperate road na gagawin to get there tapos gagamitan yata ng mga platforms na ginagamit sa mga oil rigs tulad ng dubai so it means di na sya tatambakan ng lupa. based on my insider this project will costs $15B.

^^ Well, we have no choice but to wait. At least we should be glad that there are such high-end proposals to begin with. West Marina is the only development which so far has no supporting news article. Pagcor City has both print and broadcast advertising, SM MOA continuously provides news updates on their plans while Alphaland Bay City has supporting news article as well. Let's hope West Marina is more than just a concept.
