Tina1511 May 28th, 2007, 01:55 PM yes it reminded me too of the emirates tower. When will it be completed
Adrian Smith fan May 28th, 2007, 09:32 PM ^^ unknown
AltinD May 28th, 2007, 09:40 PM ^^ First question, first:
q: When it will start?
a: UNKNOWN!
Money2Burn June 5th, 2007, 11:47 AM The time of starting construction does not depend on DAMAC alone, but on the master developer which first has to hand over the plot. For exsample in DIFC DAMAC got the plot for Park Towers more than 7 months late and had to remove a major el. cable in order to start piling. Get some background info before you spread bad info. This particular building sold out before the people moved from starter to main dish.
dubaiflo June 5th, 2007, 02:39 PM ^^ Park Towers were supposed to be completed in Sept 2007 at first, even adding 7 months to this date, the towers will be delayed by two years.
As for the executive bay, it seems DP is doing a very fast and efficient job in handing over the plots, as anyone can see with most other towers from various developers.
aside, where did we spread info here?
AltinD June 5th, 2007, 03:46 PM ^^ Well obviously Damac has put in here their own propaganda machine.
If DAMAC wants better reputation, then they should build instead of spending their money in useless and suspicious advertisements and also stop lying to their client.
Don't f-cking tell your Ocean Height clients for two years in the row that a tender for the main construction packagge is out and construction will start soon, when you don't even have a Municipality building permit (even now to this day) to build anything.
You can't use the central/south Asian way of treating (as in lying to) your clients, when most of them are Westerners who looks at actions not words. It simply doesn't work.
Not that I would care, since I'm not a Damac client or of any of your competitors ... I'm just allergic to BS.
Krazy June 5th, 2007, 03:51 PM You can't use the central/south Asian way of treating (as in lying to) your clients, when most of them are Westerners who looks at actions not words.
Ouch.
BS is not just a south Asian trait... there's a lot of it in the west too ;)
AltinD June 5th, 2007, 04:02 PM ^^ Of course not, but (sorry to say this) telling blatant lies to someone just for the sake of saying something, even that you know very well the other person isn't buying that, I'm affraid is.
I experience that kind of behaviour daily and I take it very bad, as an insult to my level of intelligence (whatever that level might be). Actually it seams many others do, since complaining to customer service level in Dubai, has become the chorus of people's everyday life.
BTW, what about Lake terrace and Lake View towers in JLT? Delaying of plot hand-over by the developer excuse isn't going to work there.
Krazy June 5th, 2007, 04:20 PM ^^ my point is, you can't really point out south asians... we were treated like shit by Amlak when we bought in Royal Oceanic.. whose representatives were emiratis (same fairy tales of construction starting "next month" n :blahblah:... same goes for many real estate agents in dubai who are europeans..
it's a Dubai trait.. not a south Asian trait as such.. sure it might have originated from south asia (where corruption is high so there's your explanation), but now it's become a trait for all of Dubai
AltinD June 5th, 2007, 04:28 PM ^^ We're both right.

Peter Riddoch
Damac Properties has awarded an enabling works contract valued at more than more than Dh15 million for Executive Bay, within the Business Bay district.
The enabling works has been awarded to Al Habtoor Engineering, which was also recently awarded the Park Central and Capital Bay projects at Business Bay in Dubai.
The scope of work of the contract includes shoring piles, excavation and anchoring. The value of the contract exceeds Dh15m and the work is expected to be completed by December.
Commenting on the company's latest enabling contract this year, Peter Riddoch, CEO of Damac Properties, said: "Delays in projects have been one of the primary concerns in the construction industry and we are working tirelessly towards curbing this shortcoming that exists within the market and are focussing on timely delivery.
"This year we have awarded 11 enabling contracts and two main works contracts already, which clearly reiterates our commitment towards project completions. In the process of delivering projects one after the other, Damac is not compromising on quality and endeavours to appoint well-known and experienced contractors to ensure top-quality product coupled with timely delivery. Our association with Al Habtoor is not new and we are positive that we will be able to complete the enabling work for Executive Bay as planned."
Executive Bay, launched last year, is a 19-storey tower that features modern office spaces as well as retail and recreational facilities. Damac plans to deliver 2,300 units in 2008 and a further 7,100 units by 2010.

The site has been shored and excavation for basements completed (SUPPLIED)
By Staff Writer on 2/3/2009
Damac Properties has announced that enabling works have been completed on site at its Executive Bay development at Business Bay in Dubai.
Tenders to commence the main construction work on the twin tower project (18 and 20-storey buildings) are currently under way with construction expected to commence shortly. Executive Bay is one of eleven properties that Damac Properties has planned for the Business Bay area.
The site has been shored and excavation for basements completed by enabling works contractor Al Habtoor STFA.
The development will include a shopping arcade on the ground floor together with state-of- the-art office space overlooking a waterfront location.
Peter Riddoch, CEO, Damac Properties, said: "It is pleasing to note that we are in a position to go ahead with construction as soon as we have appointed the successful contractor."
The company also recently announced that its XL Tower development has reached podium three level and enabling works have also been completed at both its Capital Bay and Park Central projects.
"We are delighted to see the progress at many of our sites across Business Bay and know that reaching these different milestones is important for our customers, who have invested in these properties at such a prime location and are looking forward to seeing them rise in the skyline over the next year," added Ridoch.
