^^Cool. This should be the current tallest residential for Trivandrum ? RED differentiates it from most of the others talls that are kinda more sober.

^^
Yes,this is the tallest building inside the city limits.Few more 18 floors buildings are under construction in the city.

You can see lot more 20 floors+ buildings outside city limits(Near Technopark area).Among those Nikunjam I-park(36 floors) is the tallest.

The colour scheme makes this building stand out.

I think its thin profile also gives a distinctive look, especially from a distance.

^^ - Yeap Indrajal, full marks to you, that's meant to ward off evil eyes from the new building. Yet another example of how the old and the new mix in our culture.

The criss crossing electric lines seem to mar the full appreciation of the beauty of the building . It can also pose a danger to life in the case of (God forbid) accidental fall from the upper floors due to any reason or while doing the exterior painting or similar work on a slippery support frame.
I wish they remove the line and run the same underground.

Cheers!!!

Illusionist
January 8th, 2009, 08:14 AM
Ajay: Lol thanks

Kannan: I think those power lines are least of the problem for anyone falling from any floors. actually they will be lucky if they hit those power lines to break their fall.

actually those lines are far away from the building. But they still look ugly, no doubt aout that.

sudheeshnairs
January 8th, 2009, 08:37 AM
Hope those lines would be done away with. The road infront of Heera Grace, the Pattom-Kowdiar Road is included in the (TCRIP) Trivandrum City Roads Improvement Project whose work is taken by TRDCL, which was stalled earlier. It was said to be resumed, no idea about the status.

Once completed, the road will be having tiled foot paths with drains and and ducts for those lines. The standard of TCRIP says there would also be transverse ducts every 50 m to avoid road cutting in future.

is it the tallest completed building in TVM at the moment?

is it the tallest building in TVM at the moment?

No I think..That credit goes to SFS Cyber Palms which are 22 floors high while Heera Grace is only 19 floor high..May be Sudheesh bhai can clarify with exact height details..:)

sudheeshnairs
January 8th, 2009, 09:53 AM
Ya, SFS Cyber Palm towers, Olive and Peach are the tallest, since the structure of both are over. (Just like we say the tallest tower in the world now is Burj Dubai since it has gone past the height of TAIPEI 101) I am not sure whether residents have moved in to Heera Grace, in that case we can say it as the tallest 'occupied' building. BTW it is 20 floors (G+19). It was supposed to have architectural element on top of Heera Grace, to push the overall height further, no idea whether they are going to do it. You can see it in the elevation.

Nice building, though the surrounding infrastructure (parking, roads) looks inadequate to handle such highrises.

sudheeshnairs
August 9th, 2009, 06:06 PM
^^ Maratha, infact the infrastructure of the sarroundings are not evident from the pictures posted here.

Heera Grace has one of the best infrastructure in the sarrounding areas.

Because of thick foliage everywhere in the city, no wonder that you may get a doubt that even proper roads exist to the building. We will glide down to the street level to take the stock of things.

See the map shown below.

Location Map

http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/844/locationgrace1pb2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

It is just about 75 metres from the Kowdiar Square.

We will see Kowdiar Square first. This is the view from Heera Velmount, the white building next to Heera Grace.

http://i31.tinypic.com/feni41.jpg

Now another view from street level

http://i29.tinypic.com/2ezhjb6.jpg

This is the Kowdiar Avenue (Vellayambalam-Kowdiar Square as shown in map)

http://i32.tinypic.com/2a9wi9f.jpg

The Kowdiar-Pattom road is now being developed under Trivandrum City Roads improvement project (TCRIP). It will be having designated foot paths on both sides, two culverts each to carry storm water as well as cables etc.

See this link for more details about TCRIP.

http://pwd.kerala.gov.in/city.htm

And finally regarding parking in the building, there would be enough parking in the basements.

It may be difficult to think for many that a six lane road is passing infront of that white building, Heera Velmont Palace.

But now see this shot, taken from that building

The stretch looks like a fully developed city.

Hope these nice things will be soon spreading to other locations of the city as well. I can see the nucleus of development here near Heera Grace !!

Thanks Sudheesh for the pictures!!

Good job Sudheesh...

The greenery of our city is just amazing and its hard for any outsider to know the fact that there is a city beneath the greenery until and unless it it being described in this way as you did.....:)

For the past couple of years [in fact decades ],the above mentioned stretch [Vellayambalam- Kawdiar square ] has been the iconic cynosure & example of a bohemian, yet modern urban infrastructure,as far as Trivandrum is concerned. The typical aerial view of the stretch and it's striking resemblance to a world famous urban
landscape in central London [ the broadway ending at the Buckngham palace],gives a fair idea of the planning and the makers of this wonderfull promenade of which every Trivandrumite is proud of [ and that includes me ].and of course,no prizes for guessing, who where the original folks behind it. WELL,MY POINT HERE IS,IT IS HIGH TIME A FAIR AREA OF TRIVANDRUM RESEMBLE THE STATED AREA....and I'm quite optimistic that.with the completion of the present road impovement projects, the same would be acheived in the near future. :):):)
