Hey yall im new to the forum, but ive been checking it out for the past few weeks and love the pictures that people have taken, especially of houston and surrounding areas. well ive been a tourist all around this country and parts of the United Kingdom, but ive never been a tourist in my own place of birth, so i decided to go downtown and take some pictures of houston this past wednesday 6/25/08.

Awesome pictures, really nice density, but how is it off work hours? I don't see any residential buildings, I'd imagine it's dead on weekends and at night. Also, what's the middle lane on the expressway for? Is it a car pool lane?

That middle lane is the HOV lane yes. and i noticed that its quite dead around downtown, only when 430ish comes around does it get really busy with traffic and crowds of people at the bus stations. other than that, its not to busy!

just got back from houston last night.... makes me green with jealous rage of all the development going on and just all the tall ass buildings!!!! haha

Love the Skyline Houston Downtown is just very empty on the weekends. But I think they are currently adding a few more condo hirises by the Texans Stadium
