The bowl should be steeper and close to the pitch. The rest looks nice.

I'm undecided as to whether i like this stadium. Firstly the actual bowl I like it's very original I like the smaller second tier and the tiers imbetween the first and second tier it’s very different but asymmetrically goes well. I also like the use of multicolored colouring on the features of the stadium. And I also like the differing shape of the stadium. But I dislike some of the exterior and I hate the additional buildings in the area they are awful getting rid of them would make this a nicer arena I think.

I don't know what to think. At times it looks dressed to impress more than functional. It has its angles I guess. Too small for a world cup bidding city.

I think this shows the problem Brazil have getting ready for 2014, the best thing for the WC is probabley to renovate some of the larger stadiums and keep the high capacity while the best thing for the clubs is to end up with mdoern 30-40,000 size facilties to try and attract the fans back.

you know, there are several forums where the user can decide the maximum size of a picture... the forum will display the thumbnail of that size... thus you could post a 3000x5000 photo but it would be shown as only 500x300 (you decide actually). I wish SSC had this feature. Its a pain in the ass to find good Panoramio photos, but they are all huge, and you have to upload them to your own account to decrease their size...

What's the average attendance for a Palmeiras match...I 'm asking because the Barueri stadium seems like a modern and "warm" house but I am not sure it fits the needs of Palmeiras crowd...

According to Walter Torre, it is an aluminium alloy that can reflect the lights projected from inside, so it could assume different colours. Something like Allianz Arena (but more simple, I think).

It always was 45,000. 42 is for FIFA matches, but this arena will not host any Confederations Cup or World Cup game.


What is really new about the capacity, is that Walter Torre told this year he is 99,99% convinced of implementing removable seats, so the capacity could increase up to 55,000, like german stadiums and this:

The WTorre struck a group of about 60 companies interested in acquiring any of the 18 media properties from the stadium. The company expects to begin closing the smaller dimensions ("Support") later this year, but will leave the largest quota (the maximum is the naming rights) closer to the inauguration of the stadium, scheduled for the end of 2013.

-The old curved stands structures remain.

-AEG agreement to manage the stadium is on track. 30 years, with revision each 10.

-Metalic structures that cover the stadium are already being produced and undergoing climatic tests.

WTorre, the constructor of the New Arena, is preparing a surprise event for this coming Thursday. The event, with a price tag of approximately USD 170.000, will include the presentation of a new miniature model of the New Arena, as well as several changes to the administrative buildings. (10/6/11) - WTORRE has just signed a partnership with AEG Facilities, an American corporation that owns operates or consults with more than 100 of the industry's preeminent venues worldwide, across five continents. The agreement calls for AEG Facilities to operate each of the venues with Nova Arena including the following:

- FIFA-standard stadium for 45,000 fans;
- Concert-configuration stadium, with a capacity for 60,000 guests;
- Amphitheater with 15,000 seats;
- Convention Center for 1,500 participants, in addition to Media Center, museum, stores, parking lot and restaurants.

"It is the first arena of its kind in Latin America, so the partner we sought to take care of operations had to be the most competent in the world", stated Rogerio Dezembro, WTORRE Director of New Businesses. He said having AEG Facilities partnership in this development "is a guarantee of operational excellence, as originally planned in the Nova Arena project."

One of Nova Arena's differentiating characteristics is an innovative capacity to hold concurrent events, where a convention can be held in the Media Center and, at the same time, a large cultural event can take place in the amphitheater, for example. "Our model is truly multi-event, there is nothing like this in Sao Paulo", added Dezembro.

"The unique design of Nova Arena will immediately position it as on of the world's most flexible and guest friendly venues," said Bob Newman, Chief Operating Officer, AEG Facilities. "We are thrilled to partner with WTorre SA and their Arena stakeholders to create a venue that, at this time of Brazil's booming economy, will further establish Sao Paulo as the region's must-play market."

Large events
This partnership with AEG Facilities will open the way for Nova Arena to host mega events, such as concerts and other entertainment and artistic productions for up to 60,000 guests. Some of AEG's recent international tours of music stars such as Paul McCartney, The Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, Justin Bieber and many other. In addition to the great lineup of AEG artists, AEG is renowned for working with all artists and promoters to bring the best possible acts to Nova Arena.

In sports, AEG has built a tradition with hockey team Los Angeles Kings, basketball team Los Angeles Lakers (overseeing privately held shares) and football team Los Angeles Galaxy, besides events such as the road cycling competition Amgen Tour of California; the Bay to Breakers running event; and AEG also keeps a permanent soccer program with the leading world teams.
