I love small unique places myself too. I grew up in a small Moroccan town as well.

Eilat has an air of Antalya (the hotels esp) but geographically Netanya looks more like Antalya than Eilat.

That `s right and it is also similar to all the egean village the blue and the white are truly mediteranean ( even if asilah seems to be an exception it s on the atlantic shore I believe )

Haifa is probably the cleanest city in the Middle East.

People were very nice there

It's definitely NOT the cleanest city in Israel, so it can't be the cleanest within the Middle East. ;-)

So I guess here are the places I wanna visit someday (when my passport permits me;-) ):

1) Oman
2) Iran
3) Morocco
4) Tunisia (one of my cousins visited Tunisia and said it was one of the most fascinating countries he's ever visited--- and he's been to over 50 countries on 6 continents)
5) Lebanon

Qatar seems interesting too (I think the royal family is very interesting), but the city doesn't excite me. Unless there is more to it than skyscrapers, I can't ever see myself visiting (assuming of course, my passport might someday be accepted ;-) ).

Damascus and Syria might be interesting to visit too, but from what I hear, there's not much to see in Damascus other than the famous Mosque (which looks very beautiful).

Saudi could be interesting to visit too, but it seems like most of the country has been built 'over night' since it was historically a Beduin society. But I imagine that they must have lots of incredible beaches and dive spots...too bad their tourism industry is so underdeveloped (or so it seems). I'd like to visit Macca, but I don't ever see that happening in my lifetime, unless non-Muslims are allowed inside (which I think would be a smart thing, because then it can introduce non-Muslims to Islam).

I want to visit Yemen. Sa'naa looks very interesting, as do the rural villages that have 20 story homes. But I think it will be very dangerous place to visit for the forseeable future.

UAE doesn't excite me. I think I am the only person who feels this way. Maybe I want to visit Dubai, whenever it is finally 'finished', just to see what it is like.

Egypt excites me, but somehow, I think I will be underwhelmed if I were to visit.

Libya and Sudan seem to have nothing. Ditto for Kuwait and Bahrain and Algeria and Mauritania.

Jordan was interesting. I think it was the best experience to be able to travel to, and to experience, an Arab country as an Israeli.
