Ha! With Greece's debt, they may have to take that down and sell it for scrap iron.

I don't understand peoples attraction to this one, it's just a dingy old stadium with a funny looking roof tacked on, it only looks good when photographed at night.

These are my personal favorites:

1st. place, the Tivoli in Aachen, Germany (my own clubs new stadium opened in August 2009):

Great architecture, prime location within the city, stands as close to the pitch as possible and many prime quality solutions in the various details.
I personally just can't think of any better brand new 30k stadium than this one in the entire world.

This is nice, but pretty standard, I think AAMI Park in Melbourne, Australia easily beats this for the best new 30000 seat stadium. It is far more creative. It is also in a prime location in the city as well as in the olympic park with great transport connections.

My favourite stadiums (limited to European football grounds):

Old school:
1. Stade de Gerland, Lyon
2. De Kujp, Rotterdam
3. Westfallen, Dortmund
4. Villa Park
5. Olimpico, Roma

Modern stadiums:
1. Stade de France
2. Estadio Da Luz, Lisbon
3. Donbass Arena, Donetsk
4&5, tied:
Allianz Arena, Munich and National Stadium, Warsaw

^^Ditto on the Gerland, although IMO the best portions are the newish stands from 1998, structural expressionism at its very best that works so nicely with the old Tony Garnier shell. Just an aesthetically wonderful stadium.

^^ Speaking of which, for those who didn't see it yet, Gerland has its own thread in the "completed" section: LYON - Stade de Gerland (41,842) (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1087913&highlight=). Feel free to comment/post in it. :)

Never been a fan of the Gerland, especially the stands at the side, rake is far too shallow, upper tier hardly seems worthwhile it is so small, plus there is to much space between the stands and the pitch...and have never been a fan of open corners
