Giorgio December 16th, 2008, 06:39 AM I visited Nafpaktos for the first time this year and I thought it was a fantastic little town. Extremely vibrant and people everywhere, cars were jammed and took a while to get to the harbour :D http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1057/1358714866_3019aa8f24_b.jpg If you have not already been, I suggest stopping by if your are around the area for a coffee or a meal by the beautiful Venetian harbour. Arxitektonas December 17th, 2008, 01:28 PM I'm fron Nafpaktos and it's indeed a really nice town...The problem you describe of the jammed cars is much better now due to the ring road which was fully opened last month...Although it is a common secret that the inhabitants of Nafpaktos (unfortunately) go nowhere without their cars... christos-greece December 17th, 2008, 09:09 PM Nafpaktos is a very nice town... I remember a trip from Mesologgi to Itea many years ago. Nafpaktos town was (and probably) great  Arxitektonas April 27th, 2009, 09:47 PM Let's revive this thread with some pics of Nafpaktos from the net The venetian medieval port http://www.ert.gr/menoumellada/images/stories/protaseis/nafpaktos-00.jpg http://www.nafpaktos-net.gr/pics/nafpaktos.15.jpg http://www.nafpaktos-net.gr/pics/nafpaktos.13.jpg http://www.greekphotobank.gr/albums/userpics/10001/nafpaktos%2000026.jpg http://www.greekphotobank.gr/albums/userpics/10001/nafpaktos%2000023.jpg http://nafpaktos.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/nafpaktos1.jpg Statue of Miguel de Cervantes (author of Don Quixote) who lost an arm in the Battle of Lepanto (the latin name of Nafpaktos) situated in the port http://www.easypedia.gr/el/images/shared/e/e8/Nafpaktos_evlahos.jpg View from the castle http://www.yellow-net.com/nafpaktos/naf1.jpg http://www.greecephotos.gr/gallery/albums/greecephotos/naypaktos/Nafpaktos.jpg View of the town with its castle http://2lyk-nafpakt.ait.sch.gr/img/nafpaktos1.jpg Gribovo beach http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3506/3181232447_a65b6606eb.jpg EngineerGreece April 28th, 2009, 01:35 AM Beautiful pictures. And beautiful place. :okay: NickyF April 28th, 2009, 08:47 AM http://www.ert.gr/menoumellada/images/stories/protaseis/nafpaktos-00.jpg I have always believed that "less is often best" when it comes to using light to show off a building. The fairy/neon lighting (?) on the venetian fortress looks tacky and detracts from what appears to be an attractive town. Local authorities should show more restraint and resist ill-conceived solutions such as this. I would urge the authorities to seek out more professional lighting solutions if they wish to highlight the fortresse's architectural elements. Let's not debase our heritage because some local mayor want's to stay in office. But no doubt a great town that warrants a visit. The normal period during the year there is no such decoration, only lights. chicagogeorge April 28th, 2009, 08:34 PM A beautiful town.... Arxitektonas January 5th, 2010, 12:16 PM Let's revive this thread with some photos I shot last summer...
