johnrosstaiwan December 5th, 2003, 06:25 PM 10/10 My favorite skyline at the moment.Kaohsiung is truly a remarkable city.The Love River is amazing as well as the beach.The City Council of Kaohsiung has really cleaned up the city a lot and there are quite a lot of new parks and recreation facilities in the city.Quite a friendly city.I go there every weekend.

This is a 9/10, extrodinary, better than Taipei if Taipei was absent of the Taipei 101.
BTW: Chaotic, its an Asian thing, we live. And If you talking about the building that looks like a part on top of two parts, its called innovation and introduction of new design. But that building in the 6th pic is ugly, if your talking about that.
This is also an unfair thread, possible racism. How does this get such a low rating?
Balikbayan August 16th, 2004, 03:57 PM Tallest bldg is Tuntex Tower. 15 years ago no sysrapers whatsoever here, now one of the worlds best skylines! I congratulate all Chinese - Mainland, H.K., Taiwan and Singapore with their miraculous growth of skylines in all mediumsized and mayor cities.

I'm from Kaohsiung and i gotta admit that it looks much better in photos than it does in the city.
Living there it feels like the skyscrapers just jump out of nowhere at you.
Not the nicest skyline - but living there is awesome.

Overall ranking of this place should be hundreds higher. It does look a little unplanned, but there's great hieght and good density, at least where the tallest are. 8.5

wannabeplanner February 11th, 2006, 02:49 PM I like it! Kaoshiung looks a lot more impressive than I remembered! It's totally under rated! It deserves a lot more international recognition!!!
BTW, I really wish they would knock down some of those older smaller apartment buildings in Taiwan are build some larger scale ones... That would make both Taipei and Kaoshiung so much nicer looking...

I absolutely LOVE the Tuntex Tower - one of my alltime favourite ultra-modern supertall skyscrapers!!!!
