Bangladesh Sub-forum Rules
Skyscrapercity is a privately owned site. Freedom of speech is guaranteed only within the limits deemed appropriate by the owners. This site was created for discussion of skyscrapers specifically, and architecture more generally. Over time, SSC has grown to accommodate a much broader conversation. However, all other topics are still secondary, and not all will be facilitated here. In particular, given the international nature of this forum, SSC is not the appropriate venue for discussion of conflicts between nations, groups of nations, etc. Nor is the site to be used as a soap box on controversial issues.
Members can be suspended or banned, with or without warning, for the following activities. 1) Derogatory statements or unsubstantiated allegations against any group of people, race, religion, or country. 2) Personal insults. 3) Trolling or flame-baiting. In particular, this applies anyone who posts in the Bangladesh sub-forum primarily in order to demean Bangladesh or Bangladeshis. 4) Any other persistently disrespectful or confrontational behavior.
When posting other people’s photos, you should always give credit. If you don’t know who the photographer is, then just say so. Any photo marked with a copyright, which is posted here without the owner’s consent, will be removed. If you have the owner’s consent, then state this clearly in your post. Please see the post-script below.
Please think a moment before starting new threads. Good ideas for new threads include topics that lend themselves to broad discussion, trip reports or other photo essays, important breaking news, etc. Check to see if a similar thread already exists. Other than for important breaking news, please consider using the “Spontaneous Discussions” thread in the "Adda" subsection for topics that do not facilitate a discussion beyond the original post. Threads involving other countries are prime candidates to be deleted.
Moderators will not be monitoring every thread at every moment. If there are issues which need to be brought to our attention, please send us a private message. We do not intend to create a disciplinary environment that stifles conversation, but merely hope to ensure that a basic level of civility is maintained. No one is perfect, including us. If there is any complaint regarding moderation in this sub-forum, please send us a private message with your complaint and reasoning. Constructive criticism will be taken seriously, but personal insults will not.
Amendment 1. There cannot be discussion of other countries, especially in regards to politics or religion, except as may specifically pertain to development projects or construction in Bangladesh. Even in the latter case, a low threshold will be maintained in barring further discussion. These steps have been taken because such discussions have consistently taken a negative turn.

Post-script. Mr. Ahmed Sharif, aka Ideas R Bulletproof, has requested that his photos not be posted on Skyscrapercity. Mr. Ershad Ahmed has requested that he be given credit when his photos are posted, which should be the case with all photos anyway.
