7/10. Interesting subject, but I feel like you just took a closeup of a faucet just for the heck of it. In other words, not much thought was put in the lines, shapes, etc. The texture of the faucet head is interesting, but if the tip of the faucet was in focus (i.e. sharper) it would've brought out that texture and also maybe some light from the water. Good effort.

(P.S. I realize I've been mostly posting critical comments, but not for the sake of bashing but for the sake of helping out. I'm going to be posting pictures soon, I want everyone to scrutinize every detail! :D As long as it is constructive criticism that will help the photographer. :))

It's an interesting macro shot, but the composition is somehow off. It's a little out of focus. And the column of ants in the dead center would probably be better a little off to the side.

I like. I like the unfocused colors in the back, though I don't know where my focus is supposed to be.

The Coca-Cola litro bottle was used to hold the "kwitis" as it is lighted. Long exposure was used to take that photo. :)

Sinj, was the title referring to the ephemerality of life and beauty... that all things are but temporary and ultimately subject to death and destruction? I can see that some parts of the flower has already wilted so it does look like a tug between life and death. Nice concept!

^ Those are mom's sunglasses. The one wearing it is one of my brothers (may kakambal siya). Those persons reflected playing with the PSP are my two other brothers (kakambal n'ya at isa pang younger brother ko). Out of place siya kasi his twin is the favorite of my other brother. :)

Thanks for the explanation Sinj! Nice selective focus and the photo is very sharp. In my opinon, the BG is too bright. It doesn't compliment your white subject. If you cannot get a better background on flowers, you just try to make a set-up of your own. well done though :)

Did you use auto or manual mode? I suggest that you use ISO 200 and lower in a condition that you have sufficient light to support at least 1/60 of a second.

No Photoshop. I took a RAW image so that I have the freedom of tweaking everything without affecting image quality with a RAW image processor (e.g. ACDSee). So what I did was change the white balance to cloudy and tweaked the light levels. :)

Just right click the file and select properties then select summary. In summary select advanced. Some photo sites, they already show these informations.

sa stat ata you only remove the two extreme scores kung iaaffect nila drastically kapag kinuha yung total average score. makikita niyo naman yung trend ng scoring kasi merong bell curve kapag naconnect yung dulo ng lahat ng bars or scores.

Yeah I took it while inside a car. I intentionally did not crop out the steel bars since I want to show as many elements of urbanity possible (e.g. infrastructure, buildings, industries and ofcourse the eyesores)
