Geniet ervan ;)

Special thanks goes out to Marshall, Skyscraper Dan, Steely Dan, Victor, Shawn and all of the other Chicago cats that made it possible for me to take a two year vacation from the rigors inherent in keeping up with construction stats here in this great city of Chicago. . .

Onvoorstelbaar!

Duizelingwekkend aantal nieuwe projecten. :runaway:

I used to design scenery back when I played FS2004, which was before my HDD crashed and took all my customized settings and aircraft with it. One of my incomplete projects was the buildings in the West Loop. After painstakingly importing them from GMax (damn the person who made that crippled POS) into, eventually, 3DMax I more or less got this. As you can see 333 W Wacker was screwed up, as was 311 South until I fixed it. The others were more easily fixed. CNA also needs to be finished up, but that isn't a conversion issue.

I've been ignoring the northside for a while, even the JHC texture was a quick job, but no longer. I've redone all the major towers and added the Claire and the Elyisan (sp?). I've also thrown in some aerials too, since I know those are amoung the most popular.

http://www.fazlurrkhan.com/sears.868x542.jpg

http://www.fazlurrkhan.com/hancock.709x512.jpg

He is regarded as the "Einstein of structural engineering" and considered "the greatest architectural engineer of the second half of the 20th century" for his constructions of the Sears Tower and John Hancock Center, and for his designs of structural systems that remain fundamental to all high-rise skyscrapers.

Chicago is pure klasse.

I am always masmerized by those then and now pictures. In a city as built and as famous for its skyscrapers as Chicago, it's hard to imagine a single new building or even several buildings can change its skyline dramatically.

But the skyline indeed changed, a lot, in the past few years.

I should have waited until Trump Tower is done (or even, after the Spire is doen) to post a thread like this. But I can't wait to show you some of the changes of this amazing city for the past five years or so.

Most of these pictures were taken from John Hancock and Montrose as well as Belmont Harbor.

The most dramatic change, of course, is the rise of the Trump Tower; Also notice the upper left corner with new tall residential buildings in the streeterville (including Aqua and the vertical expansion of the Blue Cross-Blue Shield Tower). Also, in the loop, the Heritage (2005) was still U/C in the 2003 picture.

Did you notice how empty the south loop was in the 2003 picture? Now OMP and several other buildings have filled that area.

The explosion of developments of the Streeterville. Notice the whole area along the river is filled up now. Also, the Streeter (2007) near the bottom left blocked part of the view.

Here is the loop and river north. Notice that Hyatt center (2005; Near Sears Tower), the U/C building (2009, 353 North Clark) and River North Marriott Suites (2008; in front of 353 North Clark). And how can we ignore the on hold project of the Waterview right beside the United HQ.

Say something if you are interested and want to see more. hehe..

Near the bottom of the picture by the Bloomingdale building (900 N Michigan) is 30 West Oak (2007) and The Elysian (U/C 2008). Is it already behind schedule?
