This Bobae Complex is also as known as "Bobae Complex Phase II". Located just in the crowded Bobae fabric Market in the part of old-town Bangkok. With less than 3 KM. to the Grand Palace, This project is one of the "Not Many" projects that approved to rise up in such an area due to the 2-KM.-circular-area Height-Restricted from the Grand Palace. This restricted area called "RattanaKosin Island".

The project comprise 3 residential towers rising from 29-30 Storey-Tall Situated on the top of the 12-storey Whole-sales shopping complex just like "Pratunam Center".

The construction progress on residential Towers is due to finished in early 2004. With different shapes of structures, one of the towers is built-up in a exact-round-corners-square 30 storey building, and another 2 are shaped in the rectangle with special roof-structures on the top.

This complex sure looks amazing, and in the distance can be seen to rise massively from the low rise surroundings.

this project sure will freshen up the area around it. i also kinda want the govt. to improve the Khao Sand road area since it's located very close to the Ratanakosin Island. and many western foreigners like to think that area is how the whole Bangkok looks like.>(

I think Kao Sand Road is already looks better now, new shops, new resturants and new hotels....The area is kinda improved a bit...:angel1:

I heard that Kao Sarn Rd itself has become quite trendy and has some good looking shops/pubs/accomodations. There are more Thais there now and backpackers looking for the cheapest possible no matter what the consequences (which seems to be what backpacking is all about these days), are moving out to neighbouring sois.

Bobae complex. This is another mega construction site and major encroachment on the Saen Seap canalscape.

The construction pace in Bangkok is amazing. A lot can happen in 8 months!!!

YEa!...What a change!....and I think all of those 3 towers are almost topped-out, only thing that left is domes, which will be on the top of all 3 towers....:)

Nice and we can see the difference between old and new building. They should paint or make it nicer.

Prince Palace tower is not part of the project, right? It's so close to the site though.

I think Prince Palace is the 1st Phase of the whole project.

Wow,almost done. Actually they are not too bad. In the same token,they look so simple. For that area,they should have done something fascinating because there is no tall building around them.

Yes, the yellow pastel color seems to match the tower's shapes very good except sometime looks a bit too light...:)

The pink doesn't look so bad in that picture. Not so good either, just a little less strong than I thought it was.

So are they gonna add something at the top of the new towers like in the drawing, or will they stay this way?

Lots of Wholesale fabric-clothing shops. crowded and absolutely gridlock area.....not really a nice place for chillin.

That area of wholesale shops look so old, unless they have upgraded it with the rise of those new towers.

PPS design Ltd. provided structural engineering design service and supervision services for 3 Tower of Residencial & Comercial Building,of 28-30 storeys and 2 level basement.
This project include a 32 storey Bobae Tower aka Prince Palace hotel - built on top of a 12 storey shopping centre for wholesale garments (both already constructed).The development also include two other (presumably residential / apartment) towers, about 30 storeys each, currently under construction.

i personally like the bobae complex the more i see it :).. i will like it a lot more if they repaint the pink buildding though..

i think bobae complex is one of the ugliest complex(highrises) in bangkok. Just look at the colors. 1 tower is totally pink and the rest is white/yellowish. God who created this awful thing? It would look better without it.

I dont think Boebae complex is that ugly highrise. But the location is bad.
That area should not have highrise building. If the highrise will rise up there, it should be a beautiful and sofisticated one because it can be seen so obviously among the other messy lowrise shophouses.

Personally I think it looked better when it was only one tower. The bulk of the podium, the pastel colors, the many different shapes and the mass of empty concrete surface drag it down imho.

I dont know, I think it's not the best looking towers but defineitly not the worst.

Never the less, It came out better than I ever expected., especially when they changed the color from pink to yellow..:)

Well, I guess my issues is mostly with the podium, at least the rear side of it as seen there. The towers themselves are not so bad :)

Yeah they do induvidual sales as well, but ingeneral I find the pavement markets to be superior for low cost induvidual fashion stuff :)
