Early this year, DoS officials told The Jordan Times that the majority of these expatriates work in Saudi Arabia followed by the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and other Arab Gulf countries. The majority of Jordanian expatriates work as technicians and experts in various professions in several sectors such as engineering, medicine, pharmaceuticals, IT and education, according to DoS, which added that remittances have been the largest source of the Kingdom's foreign currency incomes. Labour offices at the Kingdom's embassies in Gulf countries have also recently helped Jordanians find jobs there. http://www.zawya.com/Story.cfm/sidZAWYA20080731073531 © Jordan Times 2008 |
