^^ instead of adding championship banners and stuff, try adding lots of exterior pictures, landscaping, transportation and such. For the interior, add pics of the seating bowl structure, concourses, ramps, etc.

As great as Red Auerbach is, he really doesnt relate to the arena.

I'm not a fan of watching basketball in arenas that can accommodate hockey either. The stands are too far away from the court, especially at the ends. Those efforts to change the grade of the lower bowl seats is less than ideal. The angle needs to be steeper.

An interesting thing of note is that, like its predecessor, Boston Garden, TD Banknorth Garden sit directly atop North Station, one of New Englands largest transit hubs. North Station serves as the southern terminus for Amtrak's Downeaster line to Portland, ME and four MBTA commuter rail lines, and also serves two MBTA subway lines. The waiting area, with its ticket windows for arena events, restrooms and food court, serves as an intermediate concourse for arena patrons, and can become quite crowded during event nights, though recent expansions have alleviated some of the congestion.

That's why, in a few cities, NBA and NHL franchises have built separate arenas (Phoenix, Miami, Twin Cities).

TD Banknorth Garden is going green - leprechaun green - and if the city skyline starts shimmering with a golden haze around 10 p.m. tonight, it's not the Northern Lights, but the garden's new exterior lighting system celebrating a Bruins victory.

According to garden officials, the arena can now be fully illuminated with team colors at night - leprechaun green for Celtics home games and Bruins gold for when the local lads play host to NHL rivals. And when Celtics or the Bruins win a home game at night, the system has the capacity to celebrate that victory by creating a special wave effect, a garden press release said.

we do not care who Boston is playing, if they win a championship or if their crappy teams swept some one.

This arena is one of the worst in my opinion.

This arena is decent. Like most new arenas (built from the mid 1990s on) it is not as good as it predecessor. The new Garden is too small, and too open. Two of the best new stadiums, The United Center and the Bell Cnetre, are large and feel to be closer to the action.

The TD Banknorth Garden is to be renamed the TD Garden as of July 2009. And some interesting trivia: During February 10-March 13, 2005, the arena, while searching for a long-term corporate sponsor, conducted auctions on eBay to sell one-day naming rights. It had 30 different names during this period, among them the YourCenter, the AriaOrthopedics.comCenter, and even had the same name as its late predecessor, the Boston Garden.

The Minnesota North Stars were one of the six teams created in the 1967 NHL expansion, along with the Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, St. Louis Blues, and the California Seals (who were relocated to Cleveland in 1976 and became the Barons, and merged with the North Stars in 1978)-- these teams became known as the "Second Six." The North Stars relocated to Dallas in 1993.

The renaming has already taken place as of July. And another nickname I should have given the new Boston Garden is "The Arena Formerly Known as the FleetCenter". That would have been part of the new single-day naming rights in 2006.

What do they do with the ice when their is a consert?
I know they just lay the basketball floor over it when the Celtics play, but when there is an extensive non-hockey use; like a consert or a convention; is the ice still there?

Really? At the AAC, the ice is reformed quickly the day of each hockey game and shaved off/melted if there's another event before the next hockey game. I assumed this is how all modern systems work now.

Noooooo.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hT3yfuLPIU

They do remake ice quite often, but its a quite time consuming process. Lots of layers that need to be left to freeze. Lots of hand painting of everything. They would never be able to re-do the ice after every game or event.
