According to official 2007 statistics more than 1,073,000 Tunisians live abroad, the equivalent of 10% of the national population. Most live in Europe, 60% in France alone (553 608), Italie (102 000), UK (30 000), Maghreb countries (85 743), Middle-East (49 000), USA (27 000), Canada (12 000), African countries (4 000), Australia (637), Japan (448)

According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, money transfers from this group account for more than 5% of the gross national product. In 2007, Tunisian expatriates' transfers amounted to TND 1.96 billion (US$1.54 billion), or 17% of the national savings.

yes that is 10 % of the total population ... that is a lot .. these stats does take into consideration the students abroad ...

Tunesians are also increasing in Italy.

Im living in Holland and in the big cities u see more and more Tunesians.
