View Full Version : Many Bulgarians are dumb

I went to the Greek sea yesterday, it was an awesome trip, great sea and so on. We travelled through Kulata to Greece and returned over Drama and Goze Delchev. But I was fucking angry when I was told that goze Delchev was called Nevrokopi and the very dumb Bulgarians changed it to ugly Goze Delchev. In Greece thereīs still a town Kato Nevrokopi but here in dumb Bulgaria they changed it, they changed so many names of cities, very beautiful names got changed to some kommunist imbeciles and some rediculous heroes. I am really pissed of by that. Bulgaria once was a great country, now itīs a bad place with many dumb capitalistic people and many girls who are bitches and look only for men who have money. many of todays Bulgarians arenīt worth living at this place with beautiful nature.
They woulndīt even know what I am talking about if I would call the cities by their old real and beautiful names.

Tell me man, why hasnīt this happened in Greece, Nevrokopi sounds milion times better than Goze Delchev, when I hear goze Delchev emidiatelly comminist buildings and old Bulgarian people travelling in old buses come to my mind.

cosmin sounds shitty to me. The point of this thread is not if you like the name, because your opnion doesnīt matter. The point is that in other countries they keep very old names but here they cahnge them and show that they donīt respect history.

No, I am intelligent, you are dumb, if you were intelligent you would care about history and old names. With your comment you just proofe again the general mentallity of a big amount of Bulgarians, especially the young generation. The older generation cares more about that and are in general friendlier people and not that much capitallistic. But it is a waste of time to talk with you about this because you donīt even have the degree of intelligence to write something topic related but just insult with no reason.

Dear dude, I know very well who Goze Delchev was and he achieved a lot for bulgaria, still it isnīt a reason to change the ancient names with his name, I beg you to ask before writting some dumb shit that I donīt know who he was. I also know who Iane Sandanski was and so on but is that a reason to change the name. Is it worth change it from Sveti Vrach, austria, Italy, Germany and other countries have so many names with Saint, Bulgaria changes them with some "heroes" Their achievments are great but not a reason to change the ancient town names.

"Since the Greek state became ethnic the Greek government renamed many places with revived ancient names, local Greek-language names, or translations of the non-Greek names. The multi ethnic names were officially removed and the former multiethnic composition of the region was almost denied.
"The Greek government renamed many places with revived ancient names, local Greek-language names, or translations of the non-Greek names."
This you didnīt post, they recalled the villages with ancient Greek names which were probably before the Ottomans went there, the Bulgarians didnīt, they translated some names in Greek, the Bulgairans didnīt but called the twons after some heroes The Bulgarians did call some towns with ancient names after some communist heroes I fidn it good that they changed the names back to not communist names but I find it dumb that towns are called after some heroes instead of the very old names.

Then we should rename Sofia's name to Serdika, Stara Zagora's name to Augusta Trajana, Plovdiv to Filipopolis and s.o.

To be fair the names of these cities were ever "changed". Quite simply these cities, given the fact that they at one point had large portions of Greeks, Bulgarians, Turks living in them justh ad their own names in the three different languages. For example Thessaloniki. It has had the Greek name since ancient times when Alexander named it that. But since it also had large numbers of Bulgarians and Turks in it at one time there are obviously going to be Bulgairan (Solun) and Turkish (Selanik) names for the city....

Because the mentallity of the people here, especially the young generation annoys me. They havnīt a clue of anything and only want to go out and drink and fuck. Many Girls only look at the money of people. People with disabilities donīt get support and so on. There are too few intelligent people who can think clearly, at least I meet to few intelligent people, maybe I am going to the wrong places of Bulgaria, but I donīt think that.

First of all the names Sveti Vrach and Nevrokop don't date back to the antiquity but to a much later period. And second, after you are such a traditionalist why didn't you suggest Kilkis, the native town of Delchev, to be renamed into Kukush as it was called prior to the Balkan wars?
Asking 100 locals which name do they prefer- the new or the old one, more than 95 will tell you that they like more the new name, no matter whether you like it or not.Once the towns were Sveti Vrach and Nevrokop, today they are Sandanski and Goce Delchev.I can enumerate you at least 20 towns with bigger population than the two above-mentioned which were with Bulgarian majority in the beginning of XX century and were such for 1000 years but today there isn't even a trace from the Bulgarian population and from the Bulgarian name, so please keep your logic for yourself.

^^ I don't question that buddy. But there were places with 100% Bulgarian population and with Bulgarian names that never existed in ancient times, and still they were renamed with Greek toponyms. But this is normal after all and it happend all across Europe and the globe - Why Lvov in Ukraine is not Leopolis or Lemberg ? Klagenfurt in Austria not Celovec ? etc. etc.....
The problem here is radinho's claim that Greeks never changed no names of places and towns in Nothern Greece which is slightly said rediculous :)

Radi, Gotse Delchev wasn't a communist... Hence why this is one of the few named of cities that wasn't renamed after 1990 back to its original name. Along with Blagoevgrad and Velingrad. Btw, Greece also changed a lot of names, mainly those that were Bulgarian and Turkish. So did many other countries, so I don't understand why you're concluding from one changed name that all Bulgarians are dumb. Makes no sense.
