Tanger, ville la plus chère du pays

AU cours du mois de juillet dernier, l’indice du coût de la vie (ICV) a enregistré une hausse de 5,1% par rapport au même mois de l’année précédente. Les chiffres que vient de publier le Haut-commissariat au plan indiquent que cette hausse a concerné aussi bien les produits alimentaires (9,1%) que les produits non alimentaires (1,8%). Or, la variation au titre des sept premiers mois de l’année pour les produits alimentaires n’a été que de 6,9% et de 1,1 pour les produits non alimentaires. Ces derniers ont connu pour le mois de juillet une hausse située dans une fourchette allant de 0,3% pour les « soins médicaux» à 3,2% pour le groupe «transport et communications». Comparé au mois de juin 2008, l’ICV a été marqué par une hausse de 0,2%. Celle-ci s’explique par la régression de 0,1% de l’indice des produits alimentaires et la hausse de 0,4% de l’indice des produits non alimentaires, dont le transport privé (5,6%).
Pour ce qui est des baisses observées entre juin et juillet 2008 au niveau des produits alimentaires, elles concernent notamment les fruits frais (3,5%), les légumes frais (3,1%) et le lait, produits laitiers et œufs (1%). S’agissant des prix des viandes et des poissons frais, ils ont respectivement augmenté de 1,3% et de 1%.
Par ville, l’indice moyen des sept premiers mois place Tanger, avec une base de 193,7, en tête des villes où la vie est plus chère. Elle est suivie de Tétouan (191) et d’Agadir (190,6). Mais c’est Rabat qui a enregistré la plus forte hausse de l’indice moyen, soit 5,4%, suivie de Tanger (4,2%) et de Casablanca (3,8%). Quant à la ville la moins chère, c’est assurément Laâyoune. L’indice moyen pour les sept premiers mois enregistré dans cette ville a été de 166,8, largement en dessous de la moyenne qui est de 183,1. Mais il faut préciser que dans cette ville de nombreux produits sont largement subventionnés. Kénitra, par contre, reste la ville où le coût de la vie est le plus bas, avec un indice de 173,7, en hausse, cependant, de 3,1% par rapport à la même période de l’année dernière. Le faible coût de la vie s’explique par le fait que Kénitra se trouve dans une région réputée pour sa production maraichère, céréalière, de fruits, mais aussi son tissu industriel.
Le chef-lieu du Gharb est suivi par la capitale économique du Royaume, qui se distingue par son faible coût de la vie, avec un indice moyen au titre des sept premiers mois de 179,3, largement inférieur à l’indice de l’ensemble des villes, soit 183,1. Ceci s’explique par la concentration des activités commerciales dont l’essentiel des transactions se concentrent à Casablanca, avant d’être dispatchées vers le reste du Royaume.


Ventilation géographique


SUR le plan de la répartition géographique, l’indice mensuel du coût de la vie a enregistré des baisses de 0,4% à Agadir et de 0,2% à Kénitra. Toutefois, il convient de signaler que des hausses ont aussi été enregistrées dans les villes d’Oujda (0,4%), Casablanca, Fès, Marrakech, Rabat et Tanger (0,2% chacune) et Laâyoune (0,1%).

This is explained by the concentration of the marketing activities of which the main part of the transactions concentrate in Casablanca, before being dispatchées towards the remainder of the Kingdom.


Geographical ventilation


IN the field of the geographical distribution, the monthly index of the cost of living recorded falls of 0,4% in Agadir and 0,2% with Kénitra. However, it is advisable to announce that rises were also recorded in the towns of Oujda (0,4%), Casablanca, Fès, Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier (0,2% each one) and Laâyoune (0,1%).

They are talking about the average costs of living. (Food etc). And yes Tanger is indeed extremely expensive, even europe isnt that expensive.

I thought that Marrakech was the most expensive city of Morocco because they have a lot of rich tourists and Marrakech is a jetset city..

I think they are talking about the cost of food, electricity, water, transportation,..etc not the infrastuctures.

Marrakech does have cheaper cost for some alimentations and water/electricity(depends on where you live in marrakech of course).

Are you kidding me. A descent 110 m2 appartment is about 150 - 170.000 dollars! But this research is talking about the cost of living, so the cost of sugar, bread, rice, etc

A family member of me has a plot of 145 sq m in Tanger, they offered him 200.000 dollars....we are talking about land!
