First off, I think the APN Headquarters on Albert Street are prime CBD real estate.

There is no doubt that in the coming years, when APN move out to Highbrook, the HUGE land area will be redeveloped...

Looks like this one is on High Street. I dont care if it is a Heritage Building, but it has to GO! Such a waste of space :(

Any info on this one?

The buiding is a waste of space, and it is undistinguished, but I think it is important to keep things that represent the various layers of time that the city grew through (and not just the facades either), so in that respect I don't particularly resent this site. I also think High Street is one of the few spots in the CBD that has good character, so there is no real need to throw cards out of a winning hand.

To me, the spot most in need of demolition is the mass of terraced housing off Symonds Street on the land the Skytower was originally going to be. Recently built, but already screaming to be put out of its misery. Far more disgraceful than Scene in my opinion.

Also worse than Scene is that pastel row of petrol stations, fast food joints, unsucessful toy model shops, and car parks on Quay Street in front of the railway tracks as you head towards Tamaki Drive. I'd rather see a fenced-off yard of weeds growing through stones than that, yes I'll say it, abomination. The only positive thing about it is that it looks temporary, like a circus, so that you can almost imagine them disassembling it overnight and fleeing as soon as someone with balls finally tells them to "Get that shit outta here!"

Sorry, I'm not a photographer so can't post any photos. There's a whole bunch of them next to the motorway, between Symonds Street and Grafton Road. There not particularly ugly, just entirely inappropriate for that location. Makes even the City Centre look like a suburb.

Here are a couple of areas screaming for development

Albert street - turn this into a mixed use development - lofts, apartments, retail and offices

^^Isnt that the site where the 'new tower' is going to be built behind West Plaza?

If thats the "Ottoman Empire Building", then there is something planned...There was once a little statement in the Aucklander saying that they dont want the "Ottoman empire Development to go ahead"

I doubt that High Street building would be heritage listed. Guess we can always have a look....

Definitely don't think so. Only 2 High Street buildings are scheduled, and it's definitely neither of those.
