View Full Version : Public Transport Petition

I and some others are starting to think it is becoming increasingly urgent for the government to change tack on it's policies and funding models for transportation. At the moment there is huge disparity between what goes towards the private transportation sector and infrastructure, versus the public transport arena. What with the very real possibility of a National - pro business - victory at this years election the urgency has just got even more severe.

Well people we gotta start somewhere, so I've just thrown together a quick internet petition. You never know we may get enough interest that the media and parliamentarians will take notice. At least that's what I wish.

Here - http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/go_rail/

So word of mouth and email your comrades, friends and Whanau.:)

iPetition makes me pay at least $2 to sign the petition - can't you do the petition somewhere where we aren't charged to sign it??

After I clicked sign it came up but I closed the window - it appears as though it didn't stop me signing it as I received a confirmatory e-mail - so iPetition is sneakily trying to get you to pay as though it is part of the petition.

Might i suggest this topic be moved out of the Auckland section because it really is a national issue, not an Auckland one and would do far better at getting people involved if it was presented as such.

Any initiative no matter how silly and insignificant it seems can achieve a hell of a lot in this country. You just have to look at some of the douchebags that get prime time coverage over certain issues to realise that :) (not that we are douchebags!!!) So i fully support this... who knows where it could lead.

^^ Yes sensible I concur - since I was setting this up late last night I wasn't really thinking straight. I did mean it to be all inclusive of the entire country, such as the Wellington CBD airport link or rail in Christchurch but used teh Waterview folly as the most monstrous example.

So would the Ben or flyin move this?
