^ i still reckon this one should be between 20-30 storeys for that area. fairly decent otherwise.

This one was approved in February, Cul.

They'll never allow taller buildings there now, Lance, because tall buildings would make the beautiful Harmony Park too shady...

oh, it's on that side of the park. ok, that's fair enough. i'm all for it when there's something to protect.

Any news on this one, Cul? The current tenants appeared to be vacating the building when I walked by this morning.

A DA has been lodged to increase the height of this building from 45.57m to 46.88m (not sure where the 55m in the thread title came from). The additional 1.31m is due to an increased ground floor height. Other than that, the design is largely unchanged.

Another amendment. I can't find any new renders, but the external modifications seem to be fairly minor. It also appears that Tony Owen is out and Turner + Associates are in. The change to the staging they're requesting is being able to demolish the existing building before a construction certificate is granted for the new building... interesting.

DA Number D/2007/1556/B

Location:
200-218 Goulburn Street SURRY HILLS NSW 2010

Description:
Section 96(2) modification of consent to allow for a number of design changes including alterations to facade detailing and materials and the layout of apartments, the ground floor cafe and the external entry area. It is also proposed to omit the roof terrace and to reduce the number of basement car parking spaces from 89 to 85. Approval is also sought to amend Condition 7 and delete Condition 33 relating to staging of the development.

They've started advertising this one under the name "Alta", so hopefully that means it gets started soon. Unfortunately it looks like they've decided to bland-down the colours a bit.

It sure would be great if this added even a little bit of the life in these renders to this corner...

Off-the-plan sales have started: 2 bedroom units of +/-85m2 on sale from, repeat, FROM, $730,000.
Struth!!!
I noticed that in the prime north-east corner 2bdrm units occupants of the 2nd bedroom have to cross the living areas to get to the bathroom. No kid. Bad Plan, Mr Turner Associates!

The silly poofs must've paid the crazy prices - hoardings are up and demolition has started.

Looks good, i like the whole rounded rectangle that links to the main tower.
Good news that it has started.

I like it. At first glance I thought, wow a 47m building in Goulburn is pretty cool. Then realized that was the street lol.

^^ Going real well! I've seen it a number of times over the last weekend, basically up to same height as the buildings next door. Still covered in green scafolding, but I'd say maybe one or two more floors to go til topped out.

Bloody expensive to buy. $600+ for a 1 bedroom no parking.

Plus small internal areas, small, odd balconies and some weird floor plans.

This is a cheap and crappy looking building. Nowhere near as cheap and crappy as Inmark, but still cheap and crappy. The prices of the apartments do not reflect the quality of the building, that's for sure.
