Multan International Airport (IATA: MUX, ICAO: OPMT) is an airport situated 10 km away from the city centre of Multan in Punjab, Pakistan. It is not as large as the other airports in Pakistan, as it operates to cater mainly to the population of Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Sahiwal, and Pakpattan.

Latest News

The CAA of Pakistan has earmarked RS. 4.5million, to upgrade and improve Multan Airport. The proposed improvements include extension of runway from 9,000 to 11,000 feet, increasing the width of runway to 150 feet with 25 feet shoulders on each side, thus the runway will be upgraded to Category E (Suitable for Boeing 747 aircraft). Other improvements will include expansion of terminal buildings. The first phase of the work will start in spring 2008.

PREQUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS UPGRADATION OF MULTAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT


1) Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) intends to Pre-qualify Firm(s) / Contractor(s) for the work of Upgradation of the Multan International Airport to be let out as per phases described below:-

Phase – I:

• Airside Package containing Reconstruction of runway, Taxiways and Apron.

Phase – II:

• Passenger Terminal Building & Landside Facilities.

2) Prequalification is open to all Construction Companies having undertaken similar works. Foreign firms, if apply shall include participation of Domestic Contractor(s).

3) Interested Contractor(s) may obtain the Prequalification Document from the office of the Employer at the address given hereunder. The Prequalification documents are available for a non refundable fee of Rs.1000 (One Thousand Only) in the shape of pay order.

4) Application for Prequalification must be clearly marked “Application for Prequalification for Upgradation of Multan International Airport” and delivered in sealed enveloper by hand or through registered mail / courier at the address given hereunder by October 08, 2007. Contractor(s) can apply for both or any one of the phases covered under Para-I above.

5) Only Contractor(s) / Joint Venture(s) prequalified under this process will be invited to bid. CAA has the right to accept or reject any or all applications without assigning any reason.
