Ans : Bear Shola Falls (Central Kodaikanal)

The Bear Shola falls is another favorite tourist spot in Kodaikanal and it is called so, because in earlier days bears used to come and drink water from this fall. AFAIK....first of all ne temple in India...there are some Strict regulations for Non Hindus are concerned...it is basically to maintain some Spiritual rules of the temple..

In South India...even Hindus are not allowed to the Core Shrine -GARBHAGRIHAM......Only some senior Priests can go near the Idol of Moolavar / Moorthy...

In some Temples (most of the temples in Kerala) even Gents are not allowed with Shirt n Vests...some temple u would be allowed only with our Traditional Dhoti...there are some scientific reasons also behind this...someone can throw more light on this...

But i don't think they do Wash the temple just because a Foreigner entered...though they are allowed inside to certain areas in the Temple premises...HOW ABOUT IN EAST INDIA SIDE ???

And the picture u see AUROVILLE is Universal Temple....and not belongs to particular religion...it belongs to the entire Humanity,,,,:)

My pic Ans : Fort name is Pachalankurichi Kottai! Kottabomman was born there, and died at Kayatharu!

Panchalankurichi, is a small but historic village around 70km from Tirunelveli and18 km from Tuticorin. From here the great warrior Katta Bomman popularly known as 'Veerapandiya Kattabomman' raised his voice against the British regime in the 17th Century A.D.

The existing memorial fort was constructed in 1974, by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The memorial Hall, has beautiful paintings on the walls depicting the heroic deeds of the saga which gives a good idea about the history of the period. A cemetery of British soldiers are also seen near the fort. The remnants of the old fort is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. At Kayatar, near Tirunelveli the place where he was hanged, there is another memorial for Kattabomman.

1. Mr.Arul is explanations is also correct (NOT just bcas of he is my TN buddy!). Since 98% of this thread Visitors are hailed from TN, and they r used to be local language slangs, And more important, this is fun and knowledge related thread, TN guys (or those who are familiar about Tamil) using Tamil just for Fun and just using to express their sense of humor in their local language Tamil in a better ways..

2. hope you would also agree, our mother tongue slang usage is comfortable and make MORE sense of humor, to make fun and causal...Even we all Indians respect wide spoken International English, we must have agreed English, we are mainly using for Technical and communication purpose, those who are resides outside from one person's mother tongue.

3. We have slang in all language, esp. more in our Indian languages, when you want WITTING on something, we cant use English or other any other languages in a better way. you would agree that some minute FUN words can be used only in mother tongue. Hence guys r doing that.

4. And from my view, I would say that this thread has 60% Fun and 40% Knowledge thread. That's why it has been created as "FUN and Knowledge thread". The word FUN put forward than KNOWledge.

5. We really appreciate your valid points on correcting ourselves, to make better movement of this thread, we expecting more n more comments from everyone, from all the NATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL forumers, to make more sense in printing our record across over GLOBAL Internet ONLINE world.

Thirumayam is a heritage town on the way to Karaikudi, Rameshwaram-Trichy highway. It is located about 20 kilometres south of the town Pudhukkottai in Southern Indian State of Tamilnadu. The main attraction of this place is Fort, Shiva and Vishnu temple. This fort is set in 40 acres and it is considered as a great historical importance. It was built by Sethupathi Vijaya Raghunatha Thevar, ruler of Ramanathapuram in 1687 A.D. It was built close to 400 years ago. Bhirava temple was almost built on outermost wall of this old fort. During World War II, the fort was used as an armory by the British army. This fort is built on huge boulders and circles the hill.

Inside the fort there are two famous rock-cut shrines, one of Shiva and other of Vishnu, adjacent to each other. The Shiva temple is cutout from the rock and may be reached by a ladder one person at a time only. It is a one room temple perched at top of the ladder.

The Vishnu temple is behind the Fort and has an unusual octagonal temple tank fed by the underground water source. Five smaller forts may be seen around the main Thirumayam Fort.
