seems like everyone is giving so much attention to this 'new' building, as much as attention given to the esplanade even thought its a 'new' building...but it really does stands out alot to the surrounding...it looks so damn bloody modern now!!...n looks like some well-know, famous skyscraper...

i gues the attention is only because it came from @%&%^£$!£@fugly to decent.

Actually I'm a bit disappointed by the new crown. I was expecting something more "stainless-steel" a-la-Chrysler Building. This top is only going half-way art-deco with the glassy look...

Shall we declare it completed by now, or are they still doing internal works? ;)

Theyre still working on the interior (top floors) which are being converted to apartments.

I think it may as well be considered Made-Over which was what the excitement in post #1 was all about

Isn't the back supposed to be curved?

The rendering looks better cos' they exaggerated the perpective.

Since we are about to see the "demise" of one of our most visible ugly towers, here is a photo gribute to its reign during its era of disgust. :D

I think the top 5 floors were converted to residential after the makeover. The top floor is used as a church.

The views are good:

What a waste ? Use penthouse as a church ? Closer to God ?

RafflesCity

Yes, it appears so. The worship venue is given first of place in the building. For those who are heavily into symbolism, I'm sure it would be quite assuring for them

How much is the rent/ or did the church buy the place? They will ask for a second round of donations during mass just to pay of the loan for the unit:lol:

cheers
