Is it possible to have a 360 degree pano? wala pako kakita maskin sample man lang.

gORs, here's your sample.
http://pic.templetons.com/brad/pano/
QuickTime's (QT) Virtual Reality enables one to interactively control the panoramic action, using special software to stitch the pictures.
see http://paris.arounder.com/arounder_specials_louvre/java.html for such a demo. You will notice that the sides of the picture actually curve and are not flat, thus simulating human vision. :D

at the same time when we are expanding, there must be much more organisation when it comes to setting up buildings para an aerial view would really show how organized the city is. Looking at developed cities from google earth can really show how beautiful it looks when everything is organized properly

Salamat sa imong pag-appreciate sa pano @BAKEKANG. Unfortunately, edited na na nga pic. Some of the buildings are not for real (heights and locations). That was purposely done to give us a glimpse of how Iligan may look like with mid-to-highrise structures. But still, Iligan looks nice edited or not.

Pearl Asian Mining Industries to Start Diamond Core Drilling on Binasan Gold Project
Monday January 29, 9:38 am ET
As Part of its Aggressive Search for New Mine Prospects, Pearl Asian also Outlines its Exploration Program on Five (5) Very Promising Abandoned Mines

MANILA, Philippines--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pearl Asian Mining Industries, Inc. with Stock SYMBOLS: U.S.A. (OTC:PAIM - News); Germany (XETRA:R1Z - News) and (Frankfurt:R1Z - News) announces that it is about to start diamond core drilling on Binasan Gold Project-Operation Cagayan de Oro (CDO). With the imminent end to a particularly severe 6-month wet season in the Philippines and the start of the dry season fast approaching, PAIM's Chief Geologist Regino Selvano reports that he is currently reviewing proposals from 3 companies specializing in diamond drilling for the Operation CDO - Binasan Gold Project as the next two months would be the ideal time to start diamond drilling activities. "Up to the present time, exploration activities involved sampling and geological mapping covering only 10 hectares (24 Acres) of the total 20 hectare (49 Acre) Binasan Gold Claim. We are targeting to start diamond drilling by end-February to early March 2007, to cover the entire 20-hectare (49 Acres) coverage area," states Chief Geologist Selvano.

A core drilling campaign is an important part of the overall geological exploration survey of any mineral deposit which assists one to gain a better insight to the geological structure and deposit type of an ore body. It will also be possible to establish quantitative and qualitative parameters of the gold deposits that may be present in the area by accurate sampling of the borehole cores retrieved during the drilling program. It is therefore essential that representative core samples be recovered. The drilling contractor is expected to perform the drilling and extraction work of continuous rock cores, according to the specifications detailed by Chief Geologist Selvano.

The exploration area in Binasan Mine Site, Iligan City, is host to the Himalyan Formation, which consists of metamorphic rock i.e. schist metamorphic grade from nearly undeformed to totally schistose. Continuous diamond core drilling using the wireline system is recommended. To reduce losses, at least double tube core barrels shall be employed in the exploration drill holes. In zones of soft rock formations, heavily fractured rock or clay altered rock formation, it is recommended to use triple tube split core barrels. In all cases, water flushing and cooling systems are to be employed. For the exploratory drillholes consisting of ten (10) boreholes, initial subsurface drill meterages of at least 1,000-meters with an average depth of 100 meters per borehole will be drilled. These will be located and marked in the field at the Binasan prospect by the newly hired Site Geologist Bartolome Apuan, who has had more than 15 years' field experience in various mine sites.

Detailed records of the drilling progress will be kept by the contractor in a daily log giving information on all particulars of the drilling, and reported to Pearl Asian. Results of the drilling activity will then be analyzed, using 3-Dimensional Imaging Software to obtain an actual orientation of the ore body.

Meanwhile, aggressive exploration for new mine projects is in full swing, to ensure continued good revenue prospects for the company. Five (5) abandoned mines are currently being evaluated by a Team headed by VP-Business Dev. & IRO Gary Gotanco. Documentary evaluation has been completed on these, and ocular inspection/ore sampling has been done on one very promising mine site by Engineer Gotanco accompanied by Chief Geologist Selvano and newly hired Field Geologist Arlene Aguila. Ocular inspections are scheduled on the other prospects in the next few weeks as well. Once the initial feasibility report has been completed, projects will then be endorsed to the Detailed Exploration Team headed by VP-COO Ricardo Bernardo. "In addition to the five mines being studied, new joint venture proposals are being accepted, at a rate of at least 3 projects a week, which just shows the huge untapped mining potential in the Philippines," adds Engineer Gotanco.

Here's how Iligan looks today as seen from the 7th Floor of Maria Cristina Hotel. Hope you'll like it too.

Oo nga anoh? na-ilad ko ah. Hehehe....

gikopya nalang ako ang duha. salamat bai. sa summer mo agto mi ug davao pero mahipit mi ug iligan para makita nako mismo ang development sa city. daghan na daw ang nabag-o. pero parang mas OK kung dili kaayo modako ang iligan -- basin mawala ang iyang pagka "relaxed" na atmoshphere. nindot pasyalan ang iligan, so siguro if the major wishes iligan to improve and become competitive, he should concentrate on the tourism aspect like building more hotels, bed-and-breakfast, parks, seaport and airport. just sharing my thoughts.

You're right. As if we owe them something. Alam kaya nila na sa ginagawa nilang yan, they just deface public properties. For me, it's just another kind of VANDALISM.

SSC Iligan Flash News

The Fully-Airconditioned Senior Citizen Ward of GTLMH (Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital) is now open. Good News to Senior Citizens of Iligan.

I've seen the news early this evening over TV Patrol Northern Mindanao. At last, after a couple of years, the wards are finally finished.

2. Kinsa ang inyong iboto pagka mayor ug conressman?
3. Kinsa ang kusog diha karon?

I personally know Nikki Badelles. She took our camping class from her friend, Joey, who was on leave as a UP Mountaineer trainer one summer sometime in 2000/2001. (I can't remember the exact date.) I can still remember how cute she was, but she's way, way older than me. Well, those were the days. Hehehe........

are you putting them off-city? i mean the so-called highrise?

Highrise in the outskirts of the city? why not?

For a heavily populated country such us the pHilippines, high-rise residential/commercial buildings are the ideal structures to be put in place. I mean, we're more than 80million now and that's just a lot of people for a land area of roughly 300,000k sq/km2.

Does Iligan have a long-range plan?

Mayor Admin - Franklin Quijano (Former Mayor)
Mayor Opp - Lawrence Cruz (Incumbent Mayor)

Cong Admin - Nikki Badelles-Bacareza (Only Daughter of Incumbent Congressman)
Cong Opp - Varf Belmonte

2.I will vote Mayor Cruz. I'm still undecided sa Congressman.

3. Advantage si Atty. Nikki bcoz of her family name.

It's gross in my opinion. And how about the Tominobo overpass?

My take for 2007 election:

1. I let Mayor Cruz stay for another term. As far as I know, ubay-ubay biya ang accomplishments in our home city.
2. For congressman... I just leave it blank for now.

N. Mindanao is biggest economy in Mindanao

THE National Government will continue to sustain all actions to meet the projected six percent growth over the next three years, said Regional Director Myra V. Balandra of the National Economic and Development Authority (Neda).

She said Northern Mindanao remained the biggest economy in Mindanao for the year 2006 contributing 27.17 percent to the islands total production for the period.

Measured in terms of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Northern Mindanao’s economy, which is valued at P58.137 billion in 2005 at constant 1985 prices was P2.29 billion higher than the P55.84 billion of Region 11 in Davao.

"We were the 6th largest regional economy in 2005, trailing the National Capital Region (NCR), Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon (Calabarzon), Central Luzon, Western Visayas and Central Visayas," Balandra said.

The region's GRDP comprised about 4.8 percent to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and its growth rate was sustained at 3.8 percent from 2004 to 2005, although lower than the 7.2 percent growth from 2003 to 2004 and the Medium Term Regional Development Plan (MTRDP) target of 5.9 percent.

With a per capita (head) GRDP of P14,820, again at constant 1985 prices, Northern Mindanao outranked the regions in the Visayas and Mindanao area while trailing NCR and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) at third spot in 2005 enjoying a higher per capita GDP than the 2005 national average of P14,186.

Similarly, Region 10 had a total of US$491.52 million in exports for the first three quarters of 2006, up by 24 percent compared to the total regional exports in same period of 2005.

Misamis Oriental and Lanao del Norte remained the main exporters among the five provinces in the region, accounting for 48 percent and 46 percent, respectively to total regional value.

For the third quarter of 2006, cold rolled steel was the biggest single contributor with 32 percent to total value of top 10 exports, followed by the region's traditional exports such as crude coconut oil, canned pineapple products and sintered ore contributing 17 percent, 14 percent and 10 percent, respectively.

The rest of the top 10 exports are oleo-chemicals, cochin coconut oil, portland cement, raw cane sugar, desiccated coconut and milk powder, Balandra also said.

OFFICIAL CEREMONIES DECKED MAYOR CRUZ’S 42nd BIRTHDAY
By: EAMayormita, ICTC
CIO Press Release
February 1, 2007

A series of momentous events highlighted Iligan City Mayor Lawrence Lluch Cruz’s birthday celebration last January 30. Earlier that day, the four new wards at the Senior Citizens’ Building (fully air conditioned and capable of accommodating 15 elderly patients) within the GTLMH were inaugurated. Official blessing of the newly-acquired PHP 87M worth of heavy equipment (90hp excavator, 210hp wheel loader, 93hp backhoe loader, prime mover trailer truck and two 180hp refurbished garbage trucks and compactor) at the City Engineer’s Office (with a 240hp bulldozer and a 155hp grader to follow this quarter) took place. The City Council approved the PHP 500T financial aid to some 50 families rendered homeless last January 29 by the fire that broke out in Purok 2-A Green Village, Barangay Hinaplanon having been declared in a state of calamity. His special day’s finale was not just an ordinary birthday bash as family, friends and followers came to the ICNHS gym not just to celebrate the day with him but to pay tribute to his achievements as well.

Another significant occasion that preceded the mayor’s birthday celebration was his delivery of his performance report for the first two years and seven months of his term. Despite efforts to sum up his performance report in a powerpoint presentation, it took him more than an hour during the City Development Council (CDC) General Assembly at Elena Tower Inn in Tibanga last January 29. The report covered his four major accomplishments thru projects in water supply, garbage disposal, livelihood and peace and order. Matters on health, education, barangay development and employees’ welfare were also among the areas he expressed concern on. He may have run out of time to discuss his accomplishments fully but copies of a more detailed performance report will soon be distributed throughout the city’s different sectors. He did not miss to acknowledge Congressman Badelles, Vice-Mayor Dy, the City Council, city government department heads, barangay and purok or zone officials, national government agencies, non-government organizations, and concerned Iliganons who have helped made these things possible during his first term as mayor of Iligan City.

Korek. It's considered one of the major tourist destinations in Iligan. Just imagine, everytime we have visitors from other places, we normally bring them here to see the skyline of the city. Yes. We need to make the place more attractive. The parks around the area must undergo major renovation.

^^Maybe they're too busy with other projects that's why they forgot to clean and beautify their own yard. In fairness, CGSO (City General Services Office) have done their part. They maintain the cleanliness of the vicinity. They're responsible for the landscaping of the surroundings of the city hall. But it's not enough. They, (local gov't), should do something beyond the normal fensing and repainting.

Hehehe. I ran to my room to get my cam. Anyway, I felt sad too.

looking at those railway system pictures makes me a really happy man right now. I really do hope that from here onwards theres no other way but forward for us sa mindanao... and not just mindanao but for the philippines as well. :D It was about time that we had a railway infrastructure.

Dreams do come true. What we need is a good-natured tolerance of the delay in implementing this mega project. :ohno:

^^Points to ponder: Even if Mindanao suffers a lot due to peace and order issues, bad exposure created by irresponsible media, lack of good infra, etc. ...still, it contributed a big portion of the economic gains of the whole country. What more if Mindanao will have these mega projects in place. Let's just start with the better means of transportation, better airport, better etc. We will not aim for the best yet because with the power of Mindanao, it would just come naturally.

BOC Iligan increases tax take by 4.86%

(3 February) -- “We have increased our collection by 4.86% for the year 2006, which amounted to P341,210,958.62, as compared to year 2005 which was P325,395,126.36 only,” said Samson R. Pacasum, Port Collector of the Bureau of Customs (BOC), Iligan City.

The increase can be attributed to the collection of taxes and duties paid through importation of Global Steel Phils., Inc. as well as the industrial plants which contributed much to the city’s revenue and job generation, Pacasum pointed out.

The administration has welcomed the return of the steel industry in Iligan City with the defunct National Steel now being run by Global Steel Philippines. Resumption of its operations has contributed much to jobs generation and boosted the city government’s tax revenues.

Pacasum added that “we support the Administration’s move to continue to sustain all actions to meet the projected 6% growth over the next three years and drive a new dawn for the Filipino people.” (PIA-Iligan)

TESDA Lanao launches Operation Recorrida

Cagayan de Oro City (2 February) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Lanao del Norte launched Operation Recorrida: A Massive Career Advocacy on February 2, 2007 at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) gymnasium.

A joint effort with the Association of Lanao del Norte Technical Institutions (ALT), the Department of Education Iligan City, and the Iligan City local government, TESDA gathered third year and graduating high school students in Iligan, along with their teachers, school heads and parents to promote technical vocational education as a viable career option.

The activity promotes the Ladderized Education System covered by Executive Order 358 and the President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Training for Work Scholarship Program (PGMA-TWSP), billed as “Handog ng Pangulo sa Kabataan at Manggagawang Pilipino.” (PIA-Iligan/TESDA)
